    I'm with BBrave on this one. While it might be nice to have someone who was a former post player, it is certainly not a prerequisite to being able to teach post principles.

      Evansville has not always had a low post game under Merfeld, and I don't recall they played that way at Hampton. The major factor the last couple years was the play of Matt Webster. He had a knack for gripping the ball, extending his elbows, hooking his defender, and pivoting to the basket for easy layups. He should have gotten a lot more offensive foul and traveling calls, but there was nobody else in the MVC with that move, and for some unexplainable reason, the refs seemed to allow it most of the time. Maybe Merfeld can teach that move to Rashad Austin, David Collins, and the 2 freshmen.
