Off Season - CBS' Gary Parrish covers the Message Boards

This is just more evidence of the hysteria and paranoia that media people have toward internet sites, blogs, and message boards. These internet sites aren't doing anything different than writers like Gary Parrish have done for many years, except they are doing it better, faster, and reaching a wider audience than the convential media can. In short, these sites give people a choice, and they give them what they want. And that infuriates the conventional media people. So now they are reduced to irrelevance, and all they can do is sit back and fire off columns like this that criticze everyone. It's the only thing the writers like Parrish and Doyel can do that they are any good at now.

It's funny that Parrish criticizes sites like Scout and Rivals and the fans who read their stuff and post on their bulletin boards.
Parrish's own employer, CBS, paid millions to buy CSTV.com, which includes recruiting services, and Fox paid $56 million to buy Scout.com. So he rips these recruiting info services, but the big media people obviously are envious of what they have built.
