New Rivals premium article about Nick Freundt--

It says he has a Top 5 list of schools, and they are--
"Xavier, Northwestern, DePaul, Dayton, and Bradley. "There comes a point where you need to make some choices", stated Joel Fruendt, Nick's father. "Nick has five very good offers, and those scholarships that are there today might not be there in July."

DePaul just signed a 2008 shooting guard, Mario Stula and will have 5-star Dar Tucker. Is that going to affect Nick's choice?
I have to like Bradley's chances with Fruendt.

Here is some more recruiting stuff ....

Peorian DJ Richardson has picked up an offer over the weekend from Notre Dame

Zach House (from Rock Falls), a 7-footer who had committed to NIU but now backed out and has been released from his LOI,
is apparently now looking close at Evansville, and has received an offer.

One of the top unsigned seniors is Demond Watt who plays for ex-BU player Tim Bankston at TF North.
Watt has yet to show a qualifying test score, was waiting to hear from a couple prep schools, and has now re-formed plans because of the prep school thing, and will either go out east to prep school or go juco.
At one time BU was looking at Demond Watt and had offered him a scholarship.

Lastly, a couple people have PM'ed me and asked about DeAndre Miranda, who played a big part in the two consecutive State Championships that were won by Peoria Central, and he played along side Shaun Livingston and Brandon Lee.
Miranda never could get qualified and went to Central Florida Community College.
He had a decent freshman year, and averaged roughly 10+ppg, 7 rebs.
He was the top returning player in both categories this season, but....
First-- CFCC is not one generally considered one of the top power junior colleges, so the team as a whole is overshadowed by the likes of Chipola, Broward Co., and others.
Second-- they finished 21-11 and lost in their regional (to Chipola)
Third-- DeAndre's numbers, although good, were a bit disappointing, and did not improve from his freshman season.
        10ppg, 5.6rpg, 45% on FGs, 57% on FTs, and believe it or not 8-31 (26%) on 3-pointers.

He is not listed in any of the recruiting databases, and is not mentioned anywhere that I can find of being offered any scholarships.
If anyone hears about where he might be going, let us know.

No sooner do I post on Peoria Central's DeAndre Miranda then he is the topic of a nice premium insider report....

He is reportedly getting some late recruiting interest from Stony Brook and Wyoming.
He plans to visit both very soon, and is also getting a few late calls from other programs, so another offer might open up also.

Here is a short blurb from DeAndre's coach:
"He defends the post really well, can defend the perimeter, he just does all the little things," the coach remarked. "Offensively, he is kind of a garbage man, he will get a lot of putbacks. He can hit the 15-footer really, really well and can shoot the three a little bit. He's just an Illinois kid that knows how to play the game, and he's a tough kid."
