This article is about a couple 2008 kids at Decatur Eisenhower that Bradley has been recruiting, Jeremy Robinson and Lewis Jackson.

    Ouch...that's tough for both kids.
But if their injuries keep them off the court a lot, then maybe BU still has a chance at these guys.

Some final notes at the bottom of that link...
Beas Hamga has "more than 100 scholarship offers", but has narrowed his list to four.
Mario Stula from Decatur Christian is going to DePaul next year, but that was reported here 3 months ago-see below.
And Duro Bjegovic is "working on qualifying"...odd for a kid who has been in high school for nearly six years already!

Recall the other discussions on some of these kids.
Bjegovic especially was discussed in regards to age.
He is supposedly only a junior, but will be over 20 years old in his supposed senior year of high school.
I think it is proven beyond doubt that most of these international players are all 1-2 years older than their American high school counterparts.
That helps them all look good when they play other high schoolers, but in the Thijin Moses case....then when they get to college, they are exposed as being simply OLDER, not necessarily better.

I saw where East Tennessee State picked up a kid who plays the same spot that Blake Mishler plays, Greg Hamlin.

                07-08 Ducats!

Renewal notice arrived mid last week! Obviously we're looking forward to a great year, should be one of the most competitive MVC campaigns in years.

DePaul gets another commitment from the noted DePaul college prep school- Chicago Boys to Men academy.

Jeremiah Kelly has verbally committed to DePaul. He is a class of 2008 guard. Since Boys to Men is dropping their basketball program, he will have to find another prep to kill another year at.

Where will Jerry Wainwright get all his recruits now the Loren Jackson and Decatur Christian are getting out of the diploma-mill business? And will the NCAA Clearinghouse people clear Koshwal, Kelly, and the Decatur Christian kids?

Those evaluators (the Schmidt brothers) who do Illinois Prep Bullseye, suggest exactly what I have said all along.

They say that Jeremiah Kelly is one of the most improved players "primarily because he has gotten both bigger and stronger". This is likely because he is a couple years older than his counterparts.
This is why Koshwal, Hamga, Stula, Staiger, etc. all get accolades, but remember....
so did Thijin Moses, and others.

In fact, DePaul alone presently has on its roster, SIX different kids who were highly touted prep school players (junior Draelon Burns, junior Karron Clarke, junior Cliff Clinkscales, freshman Thijin Moses, senior Keith Butler, and senior Sammy Mejia).

Only two of these guys have ever averaged double figures, and only one has ever had anywhere near the success they had hoped when they came out of prep school.
3 of them (Butler, Clinkscales, Moses) have contributed very little, and two others (Burns and Clarke) came from the TOP prep schools (Laurinberg & Winchendon) have been average players at best, but have not been stars.
Mejia is good, but a bit overrated (14pt/5reb).

So it appears these prep school kids don't succeed any more than high school recruits.

By contrast, two other nearby Big East schools, Notre Dame and Marquette, have fared better over the past couple years in the Big East, and neither has a "prep school" player on the roster.

(ps---- in the last 5 years, DePaul has sent ZERO players to the NBA, while Notre Dame has sent 4 and Marquette 3)

I don't know if Bradley is recruiting this kid, but he does have a connection to BU. Trice Scott is the brother of Tyrone Cole-Scott. He is a junior at Waterloo East High School (Iowa), and a star in football, basketball, and track.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier has named him their Prep Athlete of the Week, and he was also named Mississippi Valley Conference's Valley Division Athlete of the Year.

                            Note that he was asked--
YOUR BROTHER, TYRONE, WAS ONCE A COURIER PREP OF THE WEEK, TOO. WHO'S THE BETTER ATHLETE?--
"I am, man! Tyrone's good at everything, but Tyrone just stuck to one sport -- basketball. I'm a better athlete. He can beat me in basketball, but I'm gonna beat him one day."

                              Another article on Iman Shumpert--
This is from the Sun Times, but it is the opinion of Roy and Harv Schmidt (of IllinoisPrepBullseye) on whether Shumpert is really deserving of the 5-stars and #15 national ranking that he has attained.

                              One thing the Schmidts say--
"These national people who rank kids solely based upon how they play at national exposure events they attend are insane. They totally ignore the rest of the year. Scout and Rivals people change their rankings strictly to match the lists of schools recruiting the kid."

Many here have said this for a long time, but I know that Dave Telep (Scout) and the Rivals people always deny it. Nice to see that the Schmidts think it's true, too.
