SIU gets 2008 recruit- probably out of running for Matt Roth

Kevin Dillard, a 6' point guard from Homewood-Flossmoor high school has verball committed to SIU. He will be a senior in high school next year, then would arrive at SIU in 2008.
Bradley had recruited Dillard.

This is SIU's 4th recruit for 2008. They already had committments from--Anthony Booker-- F 6'8" 210 from McCluer North HS in Florissant, Missouri
Torres Roundtree-- G 6'3" 185 also from McCluer HS in Florissant, Missouri
Chris Parrish-- G 6'3" 185 from Riverside-Brookfield High School in suburban Chicago area

SIU's 2007 recruits include--
Justin Bocot-- G 6'3" 170
Nick Evans-- C 6'11" 245
Carlton Fay-- F 6'8" 230
Brandon Wood-- G 6'3" 180

SIU is over the scholarship limit for next year and the year after, so one or more of their current players are likely not returning. It also seems to completely eliminate SIU from the Matt Roth sweepstakes.

I know our old staff was after Dillard pretty hard. Not sure if Jank was or not. From what i've been reading and hearing, Dillard has had a very strong start to his AAU summer thus far. Another nice player for SIU it appears.

This grid does not have Dillard, but when he is added, it puts them one over the limit for 2007-2008 AND 2008-2009.
They do have Bocot coming for 2007-2008 and staying for five years, meaning he will redshirt his first year.
BUT--- if he is NOT academically eligible, which is what's being said, you cannot use a redshirt year to gain four more years of eligibility, so he will NOT be able to use five years!

I suspect one of their players will be gone.
