A little along the lines of prep school news.......

Here's a report on Decatur Christian's Beas Hamga...

Seems that even though he's almost 20 , and he's trying to get eligible so he can get out of Decatur Christian and not have to chance looking for another prep school that might get shut down by the NCAA,

BUT-- according to Rivals, he is still way short of acceptable credits to finish high school and be eligible to play at college.

Here are a few quotes from the report:

"Illinois 7-footer Beas Hamga is awaiting confirmation from the NCAA Clearinghouse on his eligibility"

"It seems to be going well," said Mark Adams, who serves a dual role as Hamga's legal guardian and AAU coach"

"He just needs approval on his work from Cameroon..."

"We should know of that decision in the next 10 days."

"he's going to try to get down to Kentucky"

(he'd better not suggest if he's considering Bradley, or the NCAA will definitely not clear him!!)

Jelani Poston just committed to UIC.

He has been at (at least) four high schools so far, Lincoln Park, then transferred to Simeon after his sophomore year, he didn't play his junior year, then transferred to Boys to Men his senior year, and now is doing a 5th year of high school at Harmony Prep.
Illinois State was recruiting him along with NIU & SIU.

Do you think the NCAA Clearinghouse will have a field day with all those different years of high school classes?

tornado thank you, you took all the words right out of my mouth
Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

W-5, I have heard from a couple people that thave observed some of the workouts and scrimmages, that our guards are looking great!
Physical strength and conditioning, as well as shooting!
The Braves should be a fine 3-point shooting team again this season!

As for Jelani Poston, you can see from the link I gave that I really liked him and was impressed when I saw him playing last year. But he might be a "tweener' in that at 6'5"-6'6" he really doesn't have an outside shot is will be playing a low post, always disadvantaged by 2-4".
I still think if he can qualify (and virtually none of the Boys to Men kids have yet) he can be a good D-I player, but more an more I see those kids who change schools am lot just don't seem to mature and get better and qualify.
