If Evansville didn't have bad luck, they'd have no luck at all.
They lost virtually their whole starting team from a 14-17 team last year. They lost 4 of their top 6 players to graduation. The only starter returning is point guard Jason Holzinger.
They changed coaches, so they have reason to have hope, but it has hurt their recruiting.
Here is the list of their recruits for 2007--
But 2 of their recruits just tore their ACL's and had reconstructive surgery and they may not be ready for next season.
6'9" Clint Hopf is the only big man they signed. His knee injury sounds severe --
and 6'4" Kentucky shooting guard Jonathan Van Hoose--
Plus 1 of their recruits from last year is still recovering from a knee injury and surgery. Willie Larry will be a freshman next year after redshirting this past year--

Their other 2 recruits probably aren't likely to be impact players--
6' guard Kavon Lacey was a kid Marty Simmons had gotten a committment to SIUE when he was the coach there, but he switched when Simmons got the UE job.
And 6'5" Nate Garner is a teammate of Tyrone Cole-Scott at Tyler CC. He was probably the 3rd best player on the Tyler team.
And now more bad news. Evansville has been recruiting 6'8" center Isiah Martin from Chicago Morgan Park. Bradley had been interested in him at one time, but dropped off. Evansville has been on him longer than anyone and offered him a long time ago. But he has now eliminated him and is apparently down to Boston University and Indiana State--
Here is their roster. Marty Simmons has his work cut out for him. Who will be their starters next year?--
