  • Now that the smoke has cleared!!!

Here is my starting five NOW!!!!

    Austin
    Ruff
    Crouch
    Salley
    Wilson

    Next five
    Brown
    Cole Scott
    Collins
    Warren
    Egolf

    Hard to find minutes for
    Maniscalco
    Thompson

The interesting thing is I think the second team could on its own compete for the top four or five spots in the MVC.....you have about 8 or 9 guys that have the talent to start..a good problem to have.

i've been saying the exact same thing...here's a trivia question:

    Q. What does Jeremy Crouch's (jimmy church) three point shot have to do with this team?

    A. They are both DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

At this point I have no idea what the starting line up will be on opening night. I think the only "for sures" are Ruff and Crouch. My feeling is at this point BU might need to start the guys that have some D1 experience under their belt. A. Warren and M.Salley would probably be in my starting five right now just because they have "been there, done that" at the Div. 1 level. I think we all need to remember that BU has seven new faces that have yet to play a minute of D1 ball. Although our newbies look to be solid players on paper, it may take some time for them to adjust to the bigger, stronger, faster players that they will be facing this year. Unless these guys prove themselves in practice (which they just might do!) I would start our "veterans" and give the new guys some time to adjust. I do think that by the end of the year, some of our new guys will be giving us significant minutes and may find themselves with a starting role.

I think you have to add Sam Singh to the list of guys that will have trouble getting many minutes. I think you are right that Thompson will have trouble getting many minutes next year but I think he has a HUGE upside-I'm just not sure he is strong enough yet, but maybe that will change over the summer. I just don't want people to get down on him I think he has great potential. From what I am hearing about Maniscalco I think he will get some PT. We need him to be ready to step up big his sophmore season. I'm not sure who he is going to push out of the rotation but I think he will get some time. I also would not be ready to pencil Wilson into the lineup yet-I think Brown and Warren might be better bets-at least early. It seems like we may be forgetting about Warren a bit as we focus on the new guys.

Overall it seems like a much deeper Bradley team than I ever remember. It should be a fun year.

I agree about the new guys but I would make a wager that Austin will be in the starting lineup from game one. Any takers???

i disagree almost completely. there's no way you can put collins, austin, and wilson in the starting five over warren, brown, and salley. maybe after several weeks but from the start of the season, there's no way all three of them will start. it just makes no sense. i think salley will start almost for sure. warren OR brown will also start, and one of the new jucos will wrap up the starters.

I would certainly hope that you can put at least one or two in the starting lineup. If not, we are in trouble... I would hope that Salley comes off the bench. He's a decent player, but if he is our best forward, we are in for a long year!

Sam M is lot better player than you think and we see time on the floor this year.

I have to agree BUfan 9, Sam M is going to be a pleasant surprise to a lot of fans. The more I read about him during the season the more I knew we had a sleeper. As for Matt Sally, as hard as he tries, he scares me every time he touches the ball and please don't foul him.

Guys, Salley had a very solid first year for a JUCO, he was just getting adjusted to the game by the end of last season, and looked very good. Look at the progress JC made from his sophomore to junior year, or that ZA made from his First year at BU to last year. If Matt progresses half as much as ZA did he'll be a monster.

Not to mention, he'll have the luxury of going back to his true position next season with the guys that were brought in to play center. I think he'll be just fine in the starting lineup.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
