Wisconsin Milwaukee has more players under scholarship than they have scholarships available, and so it is suspected that one of their scholarship players in going to leave.
I have actually heard that one player was released from his scholarship today and an announcement will be coming.
Here is a discussion from the Wisconsin-Milwaukee message board about who the player is going to be, and as of the most current post, it seem nobody actually knows for sure...
SEVERAL NAMES ARE MENTIONED AS YOU CAN SEE...

The crawl on the bottom of the WEEK newscast tonight states that Ryan Thorton will be leaving.
Basketball doesn't build character it reveals it.

Thanks, Yahtzee, I suspect many of our posters put 1 and 1 together and figured out this was happening.

I think by the end of Ryan's tenure at BU he might be able to contribute. If he can add some bulk, at 6'7" he'll be an awfully hard target to guard spotting up for 3's. It's a no-lose proposition for BU.

Hope you are right, we can never have too many guys that can score.

With quality players around him, especially at the point, Ryan could step in a shoot a few 3's by the time he's a senior. Creighton has made a living with similar players doing similar things. Getting a guy who may be able to contribute by the end of his career without using a scholarship is a good pickup.

            Photoshop anyone?

But Ryan, if he goes to BU, would only be a sophonore in 2008-2009, then as a junior in 2009-2010, he'll be one of the most "senior" members of the team (Andrew Warren would be the only senior), and can contribute.

I agree completely. Ryan also has a very quick release on his shot.
                Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
