  • Recruit Class

Just curious on everyone's thoughts on this year's recruiting class
Personally, i thought we would be just amazing next year w/
    fears
    buycks and
    williams
but i think we'll still be good
what do you think of this years' class?
    WE WANT HEEMSKERK!

Personally, I think we are going to better than anything since Dickie V's time on the hilltop. Thats without Fears & Buycks. Think how good we'd have been with them. I am hearing DW is going to make it and that would help. Folks he can play. Jim just needs to channel him and he will show us why the Big 10 wanted him.

I still in shock on how much better the "inside the paint kids" have improved the Braves depth as deep as I can ever remember it .....we have blown away my expectations on the inside....the gaurd play was good last year and will be even better next season....personally I cannot wait....would still like a Midnight Madness with all the new players!

I'm always accused of being a downer, but without Fears and Williams this class is very average.

I saw David Collins play and I was like wow, a 7 footer who can't score, block shots, or rebound, 4 months later he is a brave. I was flippin shocked.

Maniscalco, Egolf, and Thompson are all nice signings, but will take time.

I have no idea why the JUCO from CA fell this far and why he wasn't rated on rivals. I'm not drinking the "he was the guy we wanted all along" Kool-Aid.

Jim Les still hasn't proved he can win consistently on the road, and last year's team had some great chemistry. With so many new players I think next year will be a bigger struggle than we think.

Sounds like your typical gloom-and-doom Sox fan.

FWIW, Tony Bennett, Lawrence Wright, and Will Franklin didn't make any JUCO rankings, and they all did just fine, as did the Braves. They will again this year.

So they are going to be better than the Hawkins Braves, Parker Braves, and the O'bryant/Sommerville Braves?

There have been some pretty good teams on the Hilltop since Versace roamed the sidelines.

Remember all the optimism last year at ISU. It took their kids some time to develop some chemistry, there recruiting class was at least as good as this one without the volume.

                ???

You are looking at a different team than me. Anything is possible as far as our record next year. The thing I like though is the guys we are signing are described as tough, hard workers. You may be correct about the center as far as him being over rated by us. I see many people have him starting. I think you are under rating him though. Several Missouri State fans on the Valley board said he was decent and had made major improvements in the last year. If he could be as good as Salley was this past year, that may be all we need. I am expecting 20 wins, then again I am really bad at predictions since I thought about 9 wins this past year.

this is one of the most ridiculous statements i have read in a while..... considerings they are going to be picked in the top 3 by probably almost every pre-season predictions for the mVC next year, this is a pretty ignorant statement

Yeah, I guess pre-season predictions are always right on. I think we were picked 8th last year.

You're right, the Braves have been scraping the bottom of the barrel the past couple of seasons. Especially last year when they won more games away from home than they have in a decade. Yeah, you're right. My bad.

If this site is too pro-BU for you (a fan site being optimistic, what a concept), there's a site associated with a local paper where you'll be right at home. I suggest trying it out.

I suspect Garlands ain't no Newbie like his # of postings suggest.

Points are all well made with the "glass is half-empty" approach. I can accept them. Garlands wants to be the "I told you so" whenever things look bad next year, which is fine and acceptable as well. But, if Garlands is wrong, I suspect Garlands will be gone.

                          Welcome to BRADLEYFANS.com Garlands.

                              Garlands posts

I'm sorry Garlands, but I don't consider you a real "fan". But, then again, I've always had a problem with negative people. You may call it bing a realist, but I call it negative.

I'll cut you some slack since you "appear" to be new to the board. Maybe you have just not read all the posts or seen all of the articles and links of the players we have recruited. I have! And I will say that these recruits have the potential to go down in history with Versace's two stud recruiting classes. Only time will tell.

I still believe that top 25 recruiting class from the early 80's was Bradley's deepest and best ever and set the tone for the fantastic decade that followed. I suspect when it is all said and done we will be saying the same thing about this class in 10 years.

I think this is also a Top 25 recruiting class nationally!
