  • Highs and lows in one day

This must demonstrate how much more intense the fan support has become for Bradley, when hundreds of hard-core BU fans hang on every turn of events like happened today.
There was mass depression as 2 of Bradley's top recruits signed elsewhere. I know I was nearly ready to jump off a tall building , when just in time, came word of the Rashad Austin signing!
Now we are celebrating the Austin signing, and one of the top recruiting classes in memory at Bradley.

I can remember previous years when recruiting news was just an afterthought to the season. Now we have such intensified interest (I'd like to think this message board is partially responsible for that) that a day like today is headed toward breaking all the records for traffic on the website in one day.

The depressed feeling I had earlier, is now replaced with the euphoria most of you have for next season. It can't get here too soon!

Better get to the ITOO hall early this year folks. We always have great crowds, but this year we will break all attendance records and show the newcomers what great fans we have here at Bradley and in
    the Peoria area.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

At least you kept YOUR depression in check. It drove me to wondering what the heck was happening but our most loyal and wonderful fans slapped me back to reality real quickly

Hey after Crouch, Fears, Coley and Knapp it just was alot to absorb. Message boards are great but the hype can lead to unreal expectations.

Bottom line is we have a great class, great leadership and players that WANT to be here.

And the BEST fans in the COUNTRY.

we know all about hype leading to unreal expectations. Michael Beasley had been committed to Charlotte since he was like 14. Then after Dalonte Hill left charlotte he de-committed almost instantly. we went from having a potentially AMAZING recruiting class to almost nothing in a split second. so we are familiar with the lows you guys are facing. Just hold your heads up. You have a strong program with a rich history you'll have more good days than bad.

I'm sure glad this announcement happened this evening.....I'm out of the office all day tomorrow, and won't have access to my computer!

Not sure I could have made it through another day.....

MB is an amazing talent.....too bad he didn't stick around to play for you. Hopefully, CC will be one of the players to bring your program back to prominence and the Big Dance.

We drink red Kool-Aid.....is there such a thing as green Kool-Aid?

we tend to refer to as green tinted glasses.

^picture of the green kool aid man.

A lot of members are still sour about michael beasley leaving. He basically had an entire recruiting class selected for us. When he left it started a chain of 2 other recruits leaving. We also lost cameron tatum (playing for UTenn next season). We also lost our chances with JJ Hickson (who will be at NC State next season).

Then we had the commitment decommitment and recommitment and the decommitment of kenyon harmon (kid couldn't make up his mind).

Then we had a mutual agreement to let 6'9 pf eric whitehurst go because of back problems.

so 2007 has been rough on the recruiting trail.

I'm suprised that you were on the ledge DC. You are usually less extreme than some of us.

My train of thought (for the first time in years I wasn't worried) was that we would only get someone who JL thought would help us immediately. If we weren't going to get someone like that, I figured we'd pocket the scholie and go for broke in '08. Honeslty, Austin was off my radar. His name hadn't crossed my mind in weeks. When I heard the news, I was ecstatic. He was a guy we had targeted for a while, and we had shown more interest in him than we had Coley or Knapp. Austin saw a game. Those guys didn't (I don't think they did anyways). Austin saw Carver and the atmosphere and what this program really was about. I'm glad he's a Brave, and I look forward to him helping us cut down the next next year. It's time folks...if you wanna crown 'em, then I say CROWN THEIR @SS!
                Onward and Upward!

Yes indeed, the past 24 hours have been quite a ride! I've said it before Coach and I'll say it again....since being shown the path (big thanks to whoever that was) from the ESPN board to the only home for Bradley Fans just a few months ago (seems like much longer), I've learned so much more about the new guys that will be wearing BU red for the upcoming season(s). Having been born and raised in P-town, I've always "followed" Bradley basketball, but this year I feel like I'm living Bradley basketball and absolutely cannot wait for the Red/White game and get that first look at EIGHT players that didn't even take the court for us last season. I feel like I already know each and every one of them!

This site is 100% responsible for all of the above!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

                    Thanks guys.
Yes, Rashad was the only one of the 3 who actually saw a Bradley game. I am sure the other 2 were shown highlight packages on tape or DVD, but it's not the same. Austin, I understand wanted to sign the day he was here, but held off because of his father desire to have him play in California where the family could watch him. Austin was sold on Bradley since that January game he attended.

Rashad Austin was at the home loss to Missouri State, Jan. 2, 2007.

Here is the post about him, and many of you then learned from some Private Messages about Rashad.

I actually have evidence that our message boards may have played a role in Bradley getting Rashad Austin.

PM me if you want to know more, and I will be sending some e mails to some of you, but don't anyone think for a minute that some of the recruits and their families aren't reading the message boards!!
