That's correct. POB is nothing more than a high priced practice player at the moment.

He needs to get out of GS and as far away from Nelson as possible.....

The fact of the matter is that is my opinion. That's what this board is about, so please don't tell me when I can post or not post.

I agree. If it was any other coach in the NBA who refused to play a kid like POB with the skills and talents we all know he has, I'd be more worried.
But as I've always said, Don Nelson has a long track record of not playing rookies, and disdaining true post-type players (he started and played Troy Murphy at center the first half of the season despite the fact he never played center).

Sorry to hurt your feelings Chico.

          1) FACT: You stated your opinion

          2) FACT: OB was NOT ready for the NBA

          3) FACT: OB went to the NBA based on his best opportunity for the best amount of money at the best time.

          4) FACT: I don't care when you post.

I've been around too long and have been a BU fan longer than you have been alive MMob, probably, than to have something like this hurt my feelings. I'm beginnng to think, and I hope I'm wrong, POB knew he wasn't good enough to be a 9 pick so he better take the money and run. One game against Pitt doesn't make you a pro.

That is pretty much what I have been trying to say all along.

He may not have been good enough to be a #9 pick (though he was in that weak field of NBA'rs)...

He was definitely smart enough to recognize the monetary opportunity and he seized it.

It just bothers me when someone tries to put down OB with a flat blanket statement 'he wasn't ready for the NBA'.... so he should have never gone to the league. All that tells me is the person isn't as smart as OB was to see the (monetary) opportunity he had.

Sorry we got in a wizzing contest. Anybody who played for a sports title in 1966 was around before I was born.

No more arguing with you guys. You know what they say about opinions. But, if someone brings up POB again, I will give my opinion, like it or not.I am impressed with MMob. He, or she, reads and remembers a lot of posts. GO BRAVES

One thing you have to remember is how long it takes NBA centers to develop. It's hard for them to get better in college because refs don't call the game well for big men. They also develop (traditionally) VERY slowly and don't peak until near 29. I wouldn't be surprised if they traded POB next year either. I doubt he has much value, but it would be good for both parties.

I'm sure they knew he was an NBA project when they drafted him. I just hope they can develop him well.
