Wow.. That squirrel mascot for the Lake District in England looks real creepy. I have been to the Lake District in Northern England. It is beautiful there but can get very crowded and touristy during holidays and weekends. Nice but not my favorite part of Northern England.

After reading the book and viewing the video from Victory, Honor, and Glolry, if BU ever drops the Braves name, I wouldn't mind going back to the Hilltoppers nickname.
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Hilltopper ... sounds like the mascot for a School of Animal Husbandry

That's funny! At least we would have an entertaining halftime show!

That is NOT a squirrel. That is some sort of creepy combination of a mule and a fox

A squirrel looks more like this:

I have this kind of overwhelming urge to punch either mascot costume.

Yeah, it's a little cartoonish. But it could be done well, despite what most don't want to admit.

Aww, come on. Change the shirt to a Where'sWaldo pep band shirt and we might have something. Perhaps we should start a contribution drive for an independent mascot costume. How long would it take for KK to have THE SQUIRREL ejected from CA?

If BU has a Squirrel for a mascot, I will jab my eyes out with a pencil!

Either we get a good mascot or nothing at all. imo

I'd rather have no mascot than a squirrel as a mascot. For some reason I don't think BU will have a mascot for a very long time.

To me, it's all about marketing possibilites. A squirrel GUARANTEES us ESPN commercials, extra play in video games which result in national visibility, add in the extra revenue that official plush toys, autographed souvenir acorns can raise, BU is missing out on a goldmine.

All colleges face these kinds of decisions.
                            Marketing vs. prestige or respect.
The University of Illinois could make a lot of money marketing a cute mascot like a squirrel, too. But does anyone think they would do that? Why should Bradley?

The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs make a lot of money from marketing their unique mascot and logo, but in the world of NCAA sports, they are little more than a laughing stock.
