This is the first I've seen this mentioned, but this article from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that Jim Molinari was a finaist being considered for the head coaching vacancy at Harvard. The job went to Tommy Amaker.

This would have been a great job for Jim. However, Harvard was under pressure to hire a black coach, since they did not have a single minority coach among all their head coaches. Despite having the largest number of intercollegiate sports of any NCAA institution, not one of their head coaches in 41 sports, nor any of their officials in their athletic department (AD and 13 senior administrators) was black. They have not had a black coach in any sport since Peter Roby was the men's basketball coach from 1985-91. I still find it amazing the amount of pressure Bradley got to hire a minority in 2002 when ultra liberal schools like Harvard get off without scrutiny for such a lengthy record like this.
