OK..I don't mind being called a mid major but the poll is not needed. I don't care if we were ranked first. There is NO reason for it IMO.

I agree that this poll means nothing other then it seperates us into a different category ; my feeling is you either have a good basketball team in div. 1 or you don"t and mid-major labeling hurts all our causes.

I don't think its bad being a mid major IF everyone understands what its implying. Trouble is many coaches, broadcasters, the very people that SHOULD understand, don't.

So its safe to say the general fan misinterprets it also.

Its SIMPLY a resource issue while many think its is attached to how you play.

Case in point is Bill Self stated that after SIU disposed of WVU that they (SIU) had played themself out of the category of mid major. That CAN'T be done.

it seems the teams with the most "resources" (aka... spend the most money) win. ex. florida and ohio st.

the thing that makes me most mad about this is that we beat VCU at VCU on national television! AND we destroyed Wright St. by 39 points! remember that one? that's the game we were yelling at them saying that they should drop to DII!

even though the poll means nothing as real fan said, it still is someone's supposed unbiased opinion.
