Mentioned in PJ Star article on Thursday--

He will transfer to get a situation that allows more playing time.

LJ, just a simple assessment on the part of Jim Les and Saihou as to what kind of
      playing time he's looking at.
He's gotten almost no time on the court in two years at BU,
so he will look for a spot on a D-II roster.

hey........Good Luck to SJ.........he has sat enough ...counting his SR year of HS and 2 years on the Hilltop.....it's time for him to get on the court and I wish him nothing but the best!

I would not be surprised if Saihou Jassey gets on a D-II team or a juco team and excels with 15 ppg and 7-8 rpg.
He is very athletic and can develop into a good player.

Maybe I should have expanded on my previous post that was deleted. I should have said, "He is a very gifted athlete that can run, is quick, and can jump out of the gym." Continuing... "Since he has had little time on the court I can only assume that he does not play a good enough brand of basketball (probably since he started playing basketball very late) as he has all of the other tools necessary to succeed." Either that or Coach Les couldn't stand the stress of not being able to pronounce his name.

Thanks for clarifying your post, george.

Saihou transferred to a school in Kentucky (Rose Hill Christian Academy in Ashland, KY) for his senior season after playing sparingly at a school in Maryland (Montrose Christian School, Rockville, MD). However, he was ruled ineligible in Kentucky. He tried to transfer again to a Florida school, but did not stay there long. He returned to live with the family he had lived with in Kentucky, and did not play high school basketball his senior season. But he was scouted by Travis Ford, the coach at Eastern Kentucky and Ford told Jassey he would offer him a scholarship. However, when Ford left Eastern Kentucky to take over the UMass job, that tentative offer fell through. Bradley offered him sight unseen because of reports of his athletcism. But he has never meshed with the style of play at Bradley, and does not appear to be likely to get more playing time in the future.
