Candace Parker and the Tennessee Lady Vols won the NCAA championship tonight, beating Rutgers 59-46.
Candace had a very good game, but somewhat average for her, 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists.
Candace just finished her sophomore year of eligibility, though she has been at Tennessee for 3 years (she sat out her first year with a knee injury). But the women's pro leagues are trying to entice her to turn pro this year. They are desperate to acquire her talent. But she has said she will stay at Tennessee and return next year.
The ESPN coverage showed Candace Parker's mother quite a bit and talked about he as well. They never showed or mentioned her father, who was always present at all of Anthony's games back at Bradley and I would have thought he wouldn't miss this game tonight. Does anyone know what the situation is with her father?
