  • ** Trivia Question **

It's a slow day...here's a trivia question for those who might want a challenge.

In the 1987-88 season, what former walk-on guard was given the defensive assignment to cover Hersey Hawkins when Creighton came to Carver Arena on March 6, 1988?
This guard defended Hersey pretty well for about two minutes, then Hersey went on a tear.

Later this guard would describe the game this way:

"The first possession I deflected a pass on the baseline. The second possession I got a finger on his jump shot, blocked it and it fell short. Then he had 11 points in the next 90 seconds. Well, that was that....Hawkins wound up scoring 38 points in a 111-77 Bradley victory."

Name this ex-Creighton player AND... as a bonus....where can you find this story published??

You guys are just too sharp....actually, I got the quote from Porter Moser as recorded in the
"Missouri Valley Conference A Century of Sports" book.

The book said the game was in the 1986-87 season, but obviously that was wrong, it was in 87-88, but I found it funny thatr Hersey burned Porter, a future Illinois State guy!

PoMO is from the Chicago Area- I believe he was a Glen Ellyn kid...
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

Naperville, graduate of Benet Academy in Lisle,
but Glen Ellyn is right to the north, so he may have lived there, too.
