  • Possible Short List for Creighton

    From the Omaha Herald...

    Scott Sutton- Oral Roberts....

    Then these guys...

Fran Fraschilla. The ESPN color analyst won 175 career games in 10 years at Manhattan, St. John's and New Mexico. He's worked at ESPN since 2002 and covers predominantly Big 12 games.

???ぎ?? Jim Christian, Kent State. Christian took over for Stan Heath at Kent State in 2002 and has won 20 games five consecutive seasons. He interviewed for the Utah head coaching vacancy in March but was passed over in favor of Michigan State assistant Jim Boylen.

???ぎ?? Reggie Theus, New Mexico State. In two years, the former NBA star has vaulted NMSU from 6-24 to the NCAA tournament, where it lost to Texas in the first round. Theus played for Jerry Tarkanian at UNLV and scored 19,000 points in the NBA before retiring in 1992.

???ぎ?? Brad Brownell, Wright State. Brownell built his reputation at North Carolina-Wilmington, making two NCAA tournaments in four years. In his first year at Wright State, he beat Butler twice, won 23 games and lost to Pittsburgh in the first round of the NCAAs.

???ぎ?? John Groce, Ohio State assistant. Groce, one of the nation's best up-and-coming assistants, just completed his third season at OSU. The Indiana native is only 34, but has worked for Herb Sendek at North Carolina State, and for Thad Matta at Butler and Xavier.

???ぎ?? Doug Wojcik, Tulsa. The longtime assistant coach at Notre Dame, North Carolina and Michigan State has rejuvenated the Golden Hurricane in two years. He won 20 games in 2007. He's a Navy graduate.

???ぎ?? Randy Bennett, St. Mary's. The California native has won 78 games the past four years in the West Coast Conference. His only experience in the Midwest was as an assistant to Lorenzo Romar at St. Louis.
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

The Scott Sutton rumor does have legs.

The Tulsa World is reporting in a story this morning:
"Rumors of a possible Scott Sutton exit swirl"

"Even before Dana Altman had been confirmed Monday as the University of Arkansas' new head basketball coach, Oral Roberts coach Scott Sutton was being discussed as Altman's Creighton University successor."

" Sutton has often been discussed as Altman's most likely successor when the time came, because of his obvious connections to the school.
    "

Then..one of the World's columnists suggests that if Scott Sutton goes to Creighton, then his dad Eddie Sutton would be a perfect fit to take over at Oral Roberts.

"Sources confirmed Monday night that Eddie Sutton has already been told by high-ranking ORU officials that he would be a strong candidate to replace his son if Scott Sutton does leave the Golden Eagles."

Give Eddie a chauffer and free booze 24/7 and he'll be great at Oral Roberts. I wonder if Moser would be an assistant there if offered? He can recruit.
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

I'd love to see Reggie Theus and his great hair in the Valley. I loved his frullet he sported with the Bulls in the early 80's. Fraschilla would be a poor choice.
