how much does coach les make now? is it less than $750,000?
    I think it's about 1/3 of that.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Les will get his contract re-worked after next year when Bradley wins the MVC.

If JL is in Atlanta for The Final Four, I wonder how many AD's are whi$$$$pering in his ear?

I have heard that the Bradley coaches returned from Atlanta yesterday.

Last year Greg McDermott signed a BIG raise and extension with UNI, then weeks later left for Iowa State.
Well, you would think $750,000 would be good enough for many coaches. Yes, it's not $1.5 to $2 million, but you would think that's more than enough for him and his family to live off of for many years!

Let me tell you that there is a thing called ego. Most head coaches have them, and some are quite big.
A coach's salary could be more than he ever thought he would get, but if there are other coaches in that league who are making a lot more, then that coach will think he's getting cheated. It is not about what is a good contract, it's about what people are paying for other coaches who are at a similar level.

It looks like more than half of Chris Lowery's newly boosted salary is projected to come from private donations. Now it's up to the Athletic Director to get the wealthy boosters to pony up the dough--

High-Major Program of the Year: Southern Illinois

Southern Illinois finished a highly impressive season with 29 wins overall and a close Sweet Sixteen loss to #1 seed Kansas. The Salukis won the Missouri Valley Conference with a 15-3 record, and ultimately ended up with the nation???‚¬?„?s 7th best RPI. Perhaps more importantly, following the season, head coach Chris Lowery was signed to a 7-year contract extension.

In the end, I don't recall any mention that Chris Lowery was ever actually interviewed for or offered any other coaching position.
That's kind of funny given how many times his name was linked to another job.
And I don't recall even once hearing Wayne McClain's name mentioned for any head coaching jobs, not even the D-II ones. Even one of the BU assistants has gotten more consideration. Anyone got an explanation?
