    Cincinnati Little League BANS "Chatter"
Some of the chatter comments might be construed as cruel....

No more "Your not a pitcher, you're a belly itcher"

"If you're saying, 'Swing, batter,' and this poor little kid is swinging at everything, he feels bad and maybe he turns to the catcher and gets mad."

That is crazy!!! Just another example of how things are getting screwed up in today's world!
    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

These dolts don't really understand the reason most coaches of 6-10 year olds will have them "chatter".

It's not because the chatter does anything to the opponents, in fact the kids rarely pay attention
to the coaches or anything anyone says. But the purpose of the chatter is to get the kid to
be ready to say "swing" when the kid swings, which requires them to watch the batter and know
when he swings, so they will be alert when the ball is put in play. If the kids don't do the
chatter, then they are watching butterflies and waving at the cars going by!
So really the chatter is for the benefit of the kid doing it!
