Just reported now on the newswires, is that not only will Huggins go to K-State, but it is possible that OJ Mayo will go there as well.
Mayo was just named Mr. Basketball in Ohio for the second straight year.
Huggins' lawyer has also confirmed the deal which signs Bob Huggins for five years at Kansas State
This article also reveales that Kansas State also interviewed Greg McDermott and was prepared to make him an offer but he took the Iowa State job.
Also, present Cincy coach Andy Kennedy is interviewing at Mississippi today for their head coaching position and some speculate he might also be interested in joining Huggins at K-State as assistant.
Mizzou also is still pursuing Alford.
Indiana and Missouri may be after LSU coach John Brady.
And Turgeon & Altman are still candidates at Mizzou or Iowa.
Bob Huggins has accepted the offer to become head coach at Kansas State.
THUD
(that was the collective sound of the Jayhawk nation shi**ing bricks as they realize they are soon
going to be the third best basketball program in the State of Kansas behind K-State and Wichita State.

This has not been a good week for the Jaysqwaks
Could Sherron Collins' de-committment be next?
In less than a week on the job at K-State, Huggins is well on the way to compiling the best recruiting class in the history of the universe.
Huggins already has the #1 player in the Class of 2007 interested in following him to K-State, OJ Mayo.
But the #2 overall player, Bill Walker has said all along that he'd go where OJ went, so Huggy will probably get Walker, too.
But now Huggins has made a shrewd move to hire an assistant that will likely bring the overall #3 ranked 2007 recruit to K-State as well.
Not bad, now all he needs to do is get the #4 and the #5 guy, and he's got the Royal Flush!
Both Rick Majerus and Mike Davis being considered for Arizona State.
one of the Az State players is leaving,
Craig Austin, a 6-foot-10 sophomore, told ASU on Tuesday that he will not play for the Sun Devils next season.

OJ Mayo is not yet officially committed to Kansas State, but there is some news on him this weekend.
He was supposed to play with his AAU team in the
"Real Deal On The Hill" National AAU Tourney at FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.
But he was a no-show and was said to have stayed home due to a "stress fracture" in his ankle (according to Rivals). His AAU team also has the #2 rated prospect in the class of 2007, Bill Walker, but Walker was also a no-show for some leg injury and so their AAU team, "The D-I Greyhounds" (the top ranked AAU team nationally), lost their first and only game and were out of the tourney.
The truth is beginning to spill out about OJ Mayo's no-show at the big Arkansas AAU Tourney. He wasn't injured at all. He is in the midst of a major "business move".
Now this weekend at the Kingwood Classic in Houston, Mayo has pulled another surprise. He has left his Reebok sponsored AAU team and suddenly joins a Nike AAU team (Tropics) which is steered by Bob Huggins and which has Jason Bennett who just signed at Kansas State.
Also OJ Mayo said he is considering transferring from his Cincinnati high school (North College Hill) to Oak Hill Academy which also has strong ties to Nike and Bob Huggins.
Mayo obviously has too much going on to believe this is still all amateur stuff. Nike is funnelling him money and that's why he switched.
This stuff is not good for HS basketball nor for college basketball. This is a scandal waiting to happen, but if it does, they'll probably just add on to Patrick O'Bryant's penalties.
