  • Patrick O'Bryant update

Patrick O'Bryant is back playing with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBDL and doing well. Yesterday he had 22 points and 11 rebounds to help his team win their 3rd straight game.
He has been averaging a double-double in his past 7 games.--

Check out the report at the bottom of this article. POB has found a new job with the team!--

I hope they didn't expect POB to carry everyone's bags.

Great, so he's doing good at Bakersfield. He could have done better at Bradley. Embarrassing to be a first round pick and can't play with the big boys. How often has that happened? At least they usually ride the bench all season. Sorry, but he knew and we knew, he wasn't ready. I wish him all the luck, but all we needed was a big guy this year.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

How could he have done better at BU?

He is a millionaire I believe....
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

He's a millionaire yes. But I would think you would know what I meant. He would be worth a lot more after another Sweet 16 team, which in my opinion we would have been with POB. I think he needed better advice.

Well I am not sure if you can judge whether it was a good decision by how he is doing now. We will never know if he would have recieved as much interest if he stayed at BU. I wish he would of stayed, but I kind of lean to saying he made the right decision.

I have heard a lot of people say the same thing about S Livingston.
I think just the oposite is true. His injury proves to me he made the correct decision. If you can get that much money you probably should go. If he had the injuries at Duke he has had in the NBA he would not have been drafted as high and would be out that money or guaranteed money. If he never plays again he can still go to Duke or the school of his choice with the money he has earned.

With Livingston, the facts as they stand right now, could just confirm that Shaun went too early to the NBA leading to many injuries, as a thin 18-20 year old's frame just cannot stand those rigors.

In the end he might have had a longer and more prosperous and profitable career had he played a couple years of college ball.

I guess we will never know for sure.

I was actually in attendance at the Pat's game Tuesday night against the Anaheim Arsenal. Overall, outside of a couple sloppy plays, I thought he looked pretty good. Most of his 22 points were on hook shots (which looked like his most effective move, though he airballed one attempt) and dunks, although he also made a nice 18-19 foot jumper.

He looked a little thinner than I expected, however. I had never seen him play in person before, but he looked thinner than I remembered, and certainly didn't look like he had put on much weight since last year. That could have been an illusion though, based upon the fact that during a good part of the game he was guarding a guy who was much bigger (taller and wider) than he was.

All in all, if I was watching the game without knowing who he was, I would have thought he was a good NBA prospect, but still a couple of years away from being ready, both skill-wise and build-wise. I do think he would have torn up the MVC this year, though.

What? No one's used the ever-so-popular "laughing all the way to the bank" line yet? C'mon, it's just not same in our bi-weekly discussion about POB without it.

You're right. But I didn't bring hm up. When someone brings him up I just have to give my opinion. Even without POB, I am so proud of this year's team. GO BRAVES.
