  • 3 point and Dunk Contest

Any possibility that Zach may be asked to participate in the Dunk contest as did Boogie last year?? I wish Crouch had status for the 3 point contest but this is a senior thing so i'm glad he's not

Danny Adams would just light up the 3 point contest

With all due respect to DA, thank goodness it's not a free-throw contest.

From what I hear, a video was put together of Zach's best dunks throughout the year to send to whoever puts the contest on. If so, I think it would be hard for them to overlook Andrews.

My friend told me that a player could not compete in the 3pt or dunk contest unless the team made the NCAA tournament. Is that right?

That was my belief. but I have nothing to back it up.

Wasn't there a player from Western Illinois who competed in the dunk contest just within the past few years? Did they make the tournamnet that year?

Last year's dunk contest had the following participants:
                  Maurice Ager of Michigan State
                  Rodney Carney of Memphis
                  Vincent Grier on Minnesota
                  Errol Knight of Gonzaga
                  James White of Cincinnati
                  Lawrence Wright from Bradley

Neither Minnesota nor Cincinnati were in the NCAA Tournament last year.

That's right. They just showed the replay on the Deuce a week or two.

Though James White of Cincinnati had the best dunk of the contest, the winner was David Noel, a senior from North Carolina.

Apparently Zach has been named an alternate for this year's dunk contest. Let's hope someone catches the flu bug.

That's too bad. I was really hoping Zach would get the opportunity to show what he can do.
