for those of you who want an update on Danny Granger, the Bull just beat the Pacers, Granger played nearly the entire game and was almost invisible.
He shot 20% from the field, missed all his 3-pt attempts, had only 7 points, and the Bulls came out on top 92-90.

This loss bumps the Pacers down the the #9 spot in the East, and is presently out of the playoffs unless they can win enough to overtake Orlando or New Jersey.
The Bulls have the 3rd best record in the East

I watch the box score for DG all the time..i think he had 22 the game before shooting like 9-15 or something like that.
Last I looked he was averaging over 13 a game...I don't think that's too bad

I will stand by what I said, that if not for all the illegal calls by McKay and Broussard, Granger would have made his peace with Jim Les and stayed at Bradley for 4 years. Instead, when the differences occurred between Les and Granger, it became irreversible because Granger had Broussard talking in his ear on a daily basis encouraging him to split and go to New Mexico.
well i agree about the lining up..but and it's only conjecture now....BU wasn't the only school to see DG's talent...I'm sure other's would have welcomed him to their team.
I also agee it may have been different if no contact between DB and Granger...I also think it may have been different if JL had been more experienced. I think he may have handled things differently too.
That was always my biggest and really ONLY gripe..that DB wouldn't leave DG alone and let JL and BU handle it. Its like me trying to reconcile with my wife while some outside source is stabbing me behind my back.

DB new DG was ripe for the picking and did it under the guise of just being a mentor. If that WAS the case be open and honest and call BU/JL/KK and tell them that was what you were intending.

Tell them you WON'T accept DG as a transfer because alls you want to do is help him....but we know that wasn't the case. He wanted DG at UNM.

              Granger Danger

Granger will be a decent 6th man/journeyman type for a few years until his athleticism slips. Then he'll be replaced by another young, athletic stud and finish out his career overseas.

He'll make good money for the next 10 years, blow most of it and end up back in Louisiana living a solitary life in a shack with the rest of the 50th worst educated state in the nation.

Don't get angry at the messenger -- this is just my opinion. In life it seems what goes around comes around.

From the Liberty University website --

                Makes me wanna puke!

What They Are Saying About Ritchie McKay

"Ritchie McKay brings a wealth of college experience. Coaching at the big-time level will be an asset for him at Liberty. He has big-time enthusiasm and he will build a successful program there."
                Dick Vitale
                ESPN College Basketball Analyst

???‚¬?“I have known Ritchie and his family for a longtime. He and his family will fit the community, Liberty University and the basketball program to a ???‚¬?“T???‚¬??. If my own son was looking for a place to play, Ritchie would be at the top of the list of coaches I would want him to play for. He has tremendous values and priorities and is a superb coach, one who is very difficult to prepare for. When it came time to prepare for strong programs like UNLV or BYU, we at San Diego State would look at what Ritchie did. I look forward to following his successes at Liberty.???‚¬??
                Steve Fisher
San Diego State Head Men???‚¬?„?s Basketball Coach

???‚¬?“I have been friends with Ritchie and Julie for some time. It is a tremendous hire for Liberty and I couldn???‚¬?„?t think of a better fit. Ritchie is a tremendous Christian man, a tremendous basketball coach and is everything that Liberty University is looking for. I couldn???‚¬?„?t be happier for Ritchie and Julie.???‚¬??
                Steve Alford
New Mexico Head Men???‚¬?„?s Basketball Coach

???‚¬?“Anytime you can get someone on this level who is a very good basketball coach and loves the Lord, you have done something pretty special.???‚¬??
                Lorenzo Romar
                Washington Head Men???‚¬?„?s Basketball Coach

"My time spent with Coach McKay was some of the most rewarding times for me both as a player and as a person. He is a man of great integrity and character and has helped me grow tremendously both on and off the basketball court. I couldn't have asked for a better coach to help guide me through part of my basketball career and I still look to him to this day for guidance. He will always be my coach and without him I surely would not be where I am today!"
                Danny Granger
Indiana Pacers, 2005 First Round Pick

???‚¬?“I have known Ritchie for more then 15 years and he possess one of the brightest basketball minds I have encountered. He has a great ability to evaluate, recruit and teach basketball players and I don???‚¬?„?t know of anyone with higher integrity on or off the court.???‚¬??
                Frank Burlison
Sports Reporter for the Long Beach Telegram, College Basketball Analyst for Fox Sports Radio and columnist for www.scout.com

???‚¬?“This is an outstanding hire for Liberty University and Liberty athletics. Ritchie has a very impressive resume and the fact that Jeff Barber could go out and hire him shows the great direction our athletic program is taking. Ritchie is an extremely gifted coach, a strong man of faith and he is going to lead the basketball program to national recognition.???‚¬??

B4L, I can't disagree with all that, they have a right to be hopeful and optimistic,
and I think the issues that got RM in trouble down in NM was due to the tremendous pressures on college coaches to win and win NOW.

Did you see the Mike Nadel piece in the paper...it really is true...
