On one of the scout/insider recruiting boards, it was noted that
someone called in to a radio call-in show in Champaign, IL
and talked about Eureka High School's Jordan Prosser.
(Prosser is one of Bradley's top targets for Class of 2009)
The caller then reported to know for a fact that Kelvin Sampson had called Jordan Prosser on the phone several times.
Of course this provokes a long series of responses from Illini fams on the message board, but if it true, then it is definitely a violation.
First, because Sampson is still under a restriction on phone calls
(until 5/24/07...he can make NO calls to recruits as part of his NCAA sanctions),
second because you cannot contact a kid who is just a sophomore.
There is also discussion that Sampson might be calling Iowa recruit Beas Hamga as well.
Nobody seems to have proof, but since when does the NCAA act even when the proof is blatantly obvious (as in the Reggie Bush cheating at USC)?
