  • Question about BU mascots.

How long ago was it that we used the red 'indian' dancing with tomahwaks in both hands?

I ask because I walked into the store where I by stuff for my darts and was getting ready to check out, when I look over at all these new MLB metal trashcans and see one with 2 red stripes on the top and It says 'BRADLEY BRAVES' in big white letters, then in the middle it had the red native American dancing. It's obvious the can is ancient because it's an officially licensed product and was MUCH heavier and made of a higher grade metal than the new MLB cans were, not to mention one side is very obviously faded. The employee had no idea where it came from, and I grabbed it to buy it and it had no price on it, the other can's were 16.99, but the employee gave it to me for 5 bucks!!

Yeah, I really love it, my dad and grandpa were with me(they were checkin' out tillers at sears) and my grandpa growing up in central Illinois remebered the logo. I think it's a pretty sweet find for $5.

I actually have that trash can (or one very similar) in my basement collection. I got mine in 1985. It has the indian with a tomohawk in one hand and a scalp in the other.

Very cool - its one of my favorites. Great find!

Yeah, my fault, it does have a scalp in one hand, wow, at least in that case I can understand why we had to get rid of it. I still love it though!!

Nope, found it in a Sports store in Sandberg Mall in Galesburg.

Umm, kinda. I'll take a picture of it later and upload it. It looks a little bit more modern than your avatar.
