Story about Dick Versace and the 1971-1972 Gordon Tech team he coached. It has been called the "best high school basketball team that never had a chance to compete for a state championship". Gordon Tech and the Chicago Catholic League were not part of the IHSA at that time. But Dick thinks they were better than Quinn Buckner and Ron Ferguson's undefeated Thornridge team.
