Winthrop finishes off Big East ND. The Committee just can't keep these mid majors down. VCU, Winthrop....

I wonder what Digger is saying! If anyone is tuned to ESPN and hears his lame excuses, let us know.
This just seems to perfect. It must be some kind of cosmic payback to Digger, Billy Pecker, and all the ACC/Duke shills on the networks.

      Winthrop 74
      Notre Dame 64

Texas A&M CC still up 4 over Wisconsin, but you can be sure the officials are helping that one out, as T A&M-CC isn't even a midmajor!

Creighton still up one over Nevada.

VCU and Winthrop were not big upsets as they are 2 good basketball teams ; Duke is lucky they did not have to play B.U. this season.

They're still upsets, BU was a good team last year, but beating KU and Pitt was still a pair of upsets. I agree both teams are good, however just by definition of upsets thats what they are.

What kills me about Winthrop's win was that they threw away a 20 point lead after Notre Dame went on an impressive 30-9 run to take a 1 point lead with less than 2:00 to play. After that, the Irish got outscored 12-1 to lose by 10.

The second game had a weird start too. Miami led 9-0 after 3:00 of play, then went scoreless for 8 minutes to fall behind 20-9! Oregon was able to pull out a 58-56 win. I was surprised the Ducks were able to hang on. I never had Miami in my bracket, but I thought if they kept the score under 60 points they'd be able to pull off the upset. Despite their 18-15 record, it seems like the Redhawks lost a lot of close games this season.
