  • Congrats and way to represent

    Hey BU fans

Congrats on the nice win over Providence last night. Way to represent. Wish I could say the same for Missouri St., but I digress.

Good luck against Mississippi St. Saturday. This will be a tough challenge, but I think you guys will be up for it. Get R Done for yourselves and the Valley.

    We're rooting for you.

Likewise, DC, and I have to admit, you are the MOST congenial ISU guy I have ever known.
It's a pleasure to have you as a regular contributor to BradleyFans, and just maybe your fine sportsmanship will be a model for all Bradley fans (and ISU fans as well) to support each other and pull for the Valley teams.

As was mentioned elsewhere, just as soon as it was clear that Bradley had enough of a lead in the overtime period to assure victory, the crowd began to chant
      "MVC, MVC, MVC..."

        No prob coach

I'll add a funny little story. My girlfriend is a DePaul grad so we went to their game last night against Hofstra. A very fun game to watch.

Anyway, at about the 10 minute mark of the second half, they announced the Bradley score and at the time Providence had a 2 point lead late in the 2nd half. The section I was in was rather silent during the timeout and after I heard the score, I shouted: "Let's go Braves!!!". I then noticed about 30 people turn around and all give me the evil eye.

I was wondering what was the problem and then I remembered that you guys handled them pretty good the last 2 years. Oh well. I sorta laughed. The guy next to me asked if I were a Braves fan and when I told him I was an ISU die-hard and alum he looked at me puzzled and I said: "It's a Valley thing, I guess. Even the most heated rivalries unite in the post-season and pull for one another".

I still don't think he understood because he said: "Screw that, I hope Notre Dame and Marquette each lose by 50"

          Thanks windy

I appreciate those comments. I just try to call 'em as I see 'em and give respect where it's due. I don't know if I'm the most congenial as I think there are other good ones like cpacmel and phantom that come here occasionally, but thanks.

For an ISU fan that is... No really though Danny you seem pretty reasonable and reflect very well upon ISU fans.

                  dogs--
Officially Providence is "PC" as they retain their identity as a "College" instead of University, and maybe it's because of the initials they'd be sporting on their T-shirts.

I always go for the MVC teams in postseason, unless they happen to play Bradley. The only MVC team I have a hard time cheering in the postseason is Creighton. For some unkown reason to myself I have grown a bitter hatred(not real hatred, the sports kind ) for Creighton this year. I'm still gonna try to cheer for them though.

It's Nate Funk, I PROMISE. I hate him so much in the, god I wish he were on my team because he has cie in his vains, even though he's been playing for CU since I was 2 and 1/2, kinda way.

Man I might be in the minority, but I admire the hell out of Funk. I think he's a great player and as a fan of basketball I'm gonna miss watching him play. He doesn't have the most talent in the world, but he gets the most of his ability and plays his tail off.

I can see what you mean though how you'd 'hate' him. I felt that way for Ben Jacobson from UNI. He's the guy I couldn't stand. Funk, I've always been a fan of.

Yeah, I think you are right, it is Funk. Him and Tolliver I just despise because they did so much against us. I don't know, I just don't like him!
