  • Postgame thread-- BU 90- PROV 78

WOW........if you didn't like that game....you don't like D1 basketball.......my only question....why didn't the Braves foul at the end of the game up 3 with 8.8 secs.....it wqas still a 1and 1 at that point? We hit our FT's......we out rebounded a larger team(JJ-17 rbs to go with 17 pts) aand gave me all the excitement I could take! Move on to round 2 of the NIT!

My friend and I said the exact same thing, I've never understood why a team wouldn't do that.

I know that coach Stowell would have the kid fouled before he hit half court!

Did anyone catch where the refs were from? I thought they called a pretty good game!

I'm not sure they were good, just not as bad...

Great game! I thought the officiating was good, until they called several ridiculous touch-fouls in the last minute of the game that seemed intended to bring PC back into the game.

              Box score--

J.J. Tauai with a monster game- 17 points and 17 rebounds.
Zach with 8 rebounds in 19 minutes, 6-6 free throws, and a highligh jam that will be shown for years.
Will with 23 points to lead BU, and some clutch buckets late.
              Crouch was 3-7 from 3-point.
Ruffin with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals!
Salley with great defense in the post, and some greatr play and defense by Danny Adams, too.
Attendance was only 8,304- looked like more.

They did call a good game, but there were a few very questionable calls I thought, and the crowd knew it.

Where to start? I thought the first half was the worst half of basketball that Bradley has played all year. The second half was better, but only a little. We missed dunks and bunnies. We turned the ball over way too much. Our shooting was off. After all that, we still managed a win. We hung in there and Willed our way to victory in OT. JJ also had a monster game with 17 points and 17 boards. And our bigs made crucial freebies. Without them we lose.

Squirrel, I and my granddaughter talked to Sam Maniscalco and his father before the start. Can???‚¬?„?t wait to see Sam in Bradley garb.

What a great crowd. Hard to believe there were only 8300 in the house as it surely looked like more. And we were Loud. The White Out was a huge success, just a great atmosphere for our final home game of the season. Good luck to the Braves as they continue their NIT quest in Mississippi on Saturday.

Bradley had 20 turnovers, many of them unforced. But they forced Providence into 23 turnovers. Bradley also outrebounded the best rebounding team in the Big East, 47-37. Not bad for a 5-guard lineup!

I thought we got a little pass happy, some of the passes were rediculous. Ruffin was going pretty good with passing, but the other players weren't grabbing them. I remember one inside to Salley, he just let if bounce off his leg. OK, I really don't have anything against Salley, he did play fairly well defensively.

JL from the postgame press conference on that question:

"There was too much time. I don't believe in fouling at 8.8. That's too much time. We had talked about it, but I thought there was too much time."
