Question: Have the players or coaches ever mentioned that they appreciate or benefit from the fan support?

Answer: They have and do all the time. We see the comments in the press, some posters say they have received e mails, and the fans even went right up into the crowd last year to thank the fans for their great support. It cannot be denied that the fans do play a role in the team's performance.


Question: Then in some way does the fan support actually help the players do better or possibly make the difference between winning and losing?

Answer: The players and coaches sure seem to think so, and credit their performance to the supoprt of the crowd quite often, and it is also quite clear in the home court advantage.


Question: So how is this relevant?

Answer: Then you do have the chance to influence the outcome. However small your part might be, it might make the difference in a close game, so get there, wear white (or red if you are one of the students) and make some noise and show support!

Yes...love to hear it. I got blasted once for chastizing BU admin following the UNI game at Peoria. I didn't think they did enough to promote such a HUGE game. The crowd was flat and low attendance HURT BU IMO.

Coming off a HUGE road win we were primed for a letdown and I thought the crowds energy could have been the difference HAD they been more vocal.

We all know the end result.

As fans alls we can do is show support and be loud. I am convinced 11,400 screaming fans can make a difference.

A big crowd that is noisy by standing up and cheering on their team can make a huge difference in the game as it gives them that extra energy boost.

Sorry Dog, but how can you blame the BU Admin for a small crowd. Didn't the fans know there was a big game that night? Didn't the fans know that the Braves just demolished VCU? Couldn't there have been more students there?

I would have done anything to make the 2.5 hour trip to P-town for the game. Unfortunately, I have class tomorrow morning.

Folks the lack of turnout was on the community, stuff was all over campus, the students sure came out, they were buying whatever tickets they could find. I am not a huge fan of the promotional staff for BU, but this time they did their job.

Yeah, I think the promotional staff has done pretty darn well over this year.

I know a lot of season ticketholders who were out of town, or on vacation. That took a bit of a toll on the attendance.

And the TV plans probably hurt the ticket sales today, as well.

I just happen to think the FAN SUPPORT and student support made the critical difference tonight.
If the game's in overtime, then one point either way means a win vs. a loss,
and I think our home court and home fans helped give us the "W".

I agree, had the arena not been so loud the second half I don't think we would have even gone into OT. I really think the players fed off the energy and realized the fans were not going to let the players quit, and the Braves rose to the challenge.

I thought the crowd last night was very loud. The first 6-7 minutes was awesome with all the white shirts, and everybody standing up making noise.

The only thing that dampened it was the 5-10 people who sit a couple of rows behind me(all season) incessantly whining and screaming the whole 6-7 minutes for everybody to sit down.

I'm in the 3rd row of sec 21 lower bowl right behind the endline chair seats. Everybody in front of me was standing all the way down to the court, and these people were in my row's ear telling us to sit down. Now, during the regular season I'm very courteous and polite and did sit down alot even though everyone in front of us was standing. Last I night I couldn't take it anymore. I told em if you can't stand up a little bit for these players, especially since this was some of the players last home game, then they have no business at the game, let alone the lower bowl. These same people ignore the promotions, last night some had on yellow, orange and blue shirts. They also repeatedly bad mouth the players and coaching staff, and have very few positive words for BU, if BU is winning, then they just say bad things about the opposing program instead of praising BU.

I say put the students around the court, have em stand up all they want and force people behind them to do the same!

That's actually a good idea, I love it when the crowd finally gets off their a**es. I do realize that alot of them are older, some seniors who are alums, but still.

It also made me very mad when people weren't wearing the white out t-shirts last night. There was really no reason why they shouldn't. If someone wore a green t-shirt to an Illini game they would be mobbed for not having orange on! I wish it was that way for BU games.

I also hate people whining about people standing... I wanna stand! I try to be polite, but before the media timeout, and when the game gets crazy... I'm gonna get up.
