For all who are listening that is a great story about Barry Henson.
For those who aren't: I guess Barry was on his way back to Mizz. State from Oklahoma yesterday morning when a woman in the car in front of him lost control and went off the road. Barry pulled over and pulled her from the car while other people were telling him not to because there was a worry that the car may explode. Barry did it anyway and the woman recieved treatment and is ok. What a story, I really respect Barry alot.Once A Brave ... Always A Brave

I thought Dave and Jim said it well in summing up the lack of respect for the Valley. It's all about perception of the league. How to change it is the challenge.
A good start, I think, would be for the league to take out a full page ad in the N.Y. Times and state their case. since obviously the likes of Packer, Nantz, Vitale and Phelps won't. Maybe it should come after the tournament so it wouldn't put added pressure on the Valley teams playing in postseason. But something that makes news and gets people talking needs to be done.
Obviously the best way to make news is to keep winning in the post season. I liked how the show ended tonight with Snell pointing out the Braves have four consecutive wins over the Big East. (DePaul, Pitt, DePaul, Rutgers.) That's reality! Let's cheer on the Braves to make it five by dumping Providence.Yajusneverno!

Now, you know the trolls on some of these other boards that complain how Barry has pulled down the MSU program and the Valley will spin this. They will commend him for his heroism regarding the accident, and say he is a great guy, but he has no clue how to coach in big games and therefore he must go.
I have left posts on the Valleytalk board on how there are at least four other teams in the Valley that would just love to have him as a coach. He may not have lead his team into the Big Dance, but there is nothing wrong with the NIT either. Although Les has the potential to accomplish a lot more during his tenure as Bradley's coach, I was and still am a big Jim Molinari fan, and who knows if he could have accomplished what Les has done already. But the fact is that six postseason bids in twelve seasons (mostly all NIT's) are still more than what every team in the Valley has earned in the past twelve years except for SIU and Creighton. Even the three recent NCAA bids by UNI were their only three postseason bids since, I want to say around 1990 or so.
Hinson is a very good coach. Maybe a slightly better coach finds a way to recruit a better player, or wills an extra win or two out of the team, but let's face the facts. If he didn't have all of this bad luck over the past two years, he would have no luck at all! Though I'm sure he put all that behind him after what he did this past weekend. I bet you he feels pretty good right now about saving that woman's life! THAT is what life is all about!
