  • Just a Few More Teams That Believe They Got Ripped

Kansas State folks are miffed that they finished 4th in the Big XII and got left out. Even one team behind them got in, Texas Tech.
It breaks a 14 year streak of Bob Huggins coached teams getting into the NCAA

Mizzou had some nice wins, and was left out of the NCAA and NIT, and Mizzou beat Texas Tech in their only meeting.

LSU, a Final Four team from last year was left out of the NCAA and the NIT.

Air Force got a #1 seed in the NIT and they are not happy, as they think they deserved the NCAA.
(they lost their last four and 6 of their final 13, including 3 to teams with bad RPIs)

and Syracuse, Florida State, Drexel and Appalachian State all think they got hosed.
And U of I people are already upset because if they advance, they are going to have to play instate rival, SIU.

The press in Iowa will be livid.
No team in the entire state (Iowa, Iowa State, Drake, Northern Iowa) made either the NCAA or the NIT.

When I lived in Central Illinois I didnt love the Illini but enjoyed them and even when I moved here and they went to the final 4 I wanted them to win. No more, they honestly have some of the worst self centered self righteous fans in college athletics. There disrespect towards specifically the Missouri Valley is stomach churning. With that said I really want them to beat VA Tech and SIU to beat HC. Nothing would be better no matter what happens to us or the rest of the Valley if SIU were to beat Illinois.

To bad it wont happen VA Tech will beat Illinois.

How did Mississippi Valley State get a bid? Did they get one of those auto bids? (Not really sure how you get an auto NIT bid) I would put any of those teams just listed in ahead of MVSU.

Miss Valley St won the SWAC but then lost in their Conference Tourney Championship to Jackson St.

Oh, and this from the NIT site:

The official home of the NIT Championship features tickets, college basketball news, rankings and scores.

"The regular-season champion of any NCAA Division I conference (as determined by the conference's tie-break protocol) not otherwise selected to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship will secure an automatic qualification to the National Invitation Tournament."

I like Weber personally, but I'm tired of him complaining that the field needs to be advanced, he's said this the past two years, even though his team has gotten in. I'm just tired of "Illini nation" and look forward to their early exit, most certainly by SIU if they play each other..

I'm just tired of "Illini nation" and look forward to their early exit, most certainly by SIU if they play each other..
