  • Valley now has two ranked teams!

Well, at least a nice consolation prize for the Valley. Both of our NCAA representatives are now ranked (just like the Mountain West). SIU finished at #15 in the final ESPN/USA Today poll, while Creighton debuts at #24.

Let's hope they both defend their rankings during the tournament!

I'm no math major ... but that SHOULD mean that Creighton should have gotten no lower than a 7 seed ... probably a 6 ... and they're a TEN?
    Go Braves!

24 divided by 4= uh...uh, er...wait, what conference did you say you were from?...yeah, well...shoot how's ten sound?

This bothers me more than the Bears getting their annual colon test from the committee. A ten seed? That means (IMO) the committee belives they are either the 37th, 38th, 39th, or 40th best team in the country. Thats a far cry from 24. Props to SIU for the 4 seed but I'm getting real tired of the Valley getting these double digit seeds. Real hard to make the sweet 16 when you're running through top four seeds to get there, Billy!!!!

Winthrop got an even worse deal. Ranked 21st, seeded 11th. Playing 17th ranked Notre Dame. Same thing with Nevada. 13th ranked and a 7 seed.

As much as I feel we got screwed, how can you leave MSU out? Shouldn't beating Wisconsin count for something...aka Old Dominion gets in for beating G'town. Screw the NCAA committee. This is busch league.

IllBraves - as long as you admit your beloved Illini shouldn't be in, as they didn't win a key game outside the state of IL this year.... then you can speak up for MSU. MSU should be in... Stanford, Arkansas, Texas Tech, and Illinois are the 4 teams that got the major beneift of the doubt and shouldn't have been in.

For sure. Obviously there are always going to be gripes with who got in and who didn't, for the most part though I think the committee did a good job, but some of the seeding is really a head scratcher. Nevada being a 7 is an absolute joke and I don't see how Virginia got themselves a 4 seed. That's what really stood out to me.
