In their scout story on Bradley, they again use the nickname "Bears" thinking that's what Bradley is called.
this is not the first time I have seen someone else's website call us the Bears.

    "The Bears average 74.4 ppg"

Don't they ever check these things out for themselves, or are they all looking at the same erroneous website (probably an old page from Wikipedia).

By the way, Providence frequently plays a 2-3 zone and gets beat by teams that shoot the "3" pretty well.
Here is a story on how they got knocked out of their Big East Tournament
by staying in a zone against West Virginia while WVU was raining threes.
Finalls in the 2nd half they came out of the zone, went to amn-to-man and cut the West Virginia lead from 15 to 3.
Two fo their starters were out with injury:
    G. McDermott - torn meniscus, S. Curry - dislocated finger

"The other nagging problem that has often reared it???‚¬?„?s head for the Friars are turnovers and an inability to score points off forced turnovers. The Friars committed sixteen turnovers against West Virginia, but the Mountaineer turned that into 26 points. Conversely, the Friars only forced 9 turnovers against West Virginia, converting them into a meager 11 points."

    In the West Virginia game:
"Herb Hill, who put up another double double and has been rock solid for the Friars all season long"
"Providence...will never get over the hump in the post season until they can at least become an average defensive squad. Providence was in the top two in Big East scoring all season long, but their inability to defend relegated them to among the bottom of the league defensively and a mediocre 8-8 league record. .. the Friars must solve their defensive liabilities or they will continue to experience March sadness instead of madness."

Here is the Providence main website- be warned of numerous popups--

      Roster--

      Stats--

One thing I noticed was that Providence played 11 non-conference home games and were 10-1 at home. But they played just 1 non-conference road game, and 2 at neutral sites. They were 0-3 away from home.

      Schedule and results--

      Prospectus--
CBS Sports features live scoring, news, stats, and player info for NFL football, MLB baseball, NBA basketball, NHL hockey, college basketball and football.

Couldn't it still be a home team if the 8 seed beats the 1 in the other game? This isn't the big dance where it's automatic for the 1 seed to win thier opener
I think the post was referring to the date that has been listed here rather than the possible opponent. We'd have a hard time fitting a home game in sometime this coming weekend! Unless....of course......nnnahhhh......it would be silly of me to mention a going away party for the Fieldhouse!

I was under the impression that if we won our game and MVS won theirs, then our 2nd round game would be here on March 19 since that's our only available date at CA. The dates listed for second round games are March 15, 16, 17 & 19.
Thats it esactly. I was referring to the Class AA tourney which is in the CC Friday and Saturday. I was under the impression as well that our second round game would be Monday the 19th as well...BUT we have to win the first game first!
Lift up your hearts and sing, lift up thy light
Let all your voices ring, Hail Red and White!
Red for courage, strength and right
          White for purity
          Shining as a beacon light
          For the University
          Go onward, ever onward
          Let courage and truth prevail

We've established the fact that this game won't be on big TV (which is fine because then it would have been relegated to ESPN U, which means it would have been hard to find somewhere that carries it).

Much more importantly to us out-of-towners is will this be shown on bubraves.tv? I realize they would probably charge 6 or 7 bucks because it's not part of the season package anymore. But, there's no reason I can see why this game wouldn't be allowed to be on (TV contracts, etc.).

Can someone ask Ken K. about this or do we know the policy?

I agree, if someone with the contacts and that lives in Peoria could push the fact that it would be great if BUTV picked this up I would appreciate it. Has anyone been able to find out if a local channel will carry it? If they do I think it would be easy for BUTV to put this on? HELP ANYONE!!!!!!

I also would strongly recommend everyone send an e mail to the coaches and players wishing them well, and thanking them for a great season so far.
Add a little encouargement and when I've done this in the past I generally have gotten a nice reply.........

Send copies to these addresses and say the e mail is meant for the entire team, and it'll get to them!

                      Roby,

Appreciate the kind words and support. Although things are still being worked out w/ rights holder ESPN, we are hoping to be able to stream Weds. game.

Here are the BU-Providence Game Notes:
Bradley (21-12, 10-8 MVC) will meet Providence (18-12, 8-8 Big East) in the first round of the 2007 MasterCard NIT Wednesday night at Carver Arena.? Among the promotions for Wednesday's game, Bradley is attempting its first "White-Out" with special t-shirts to be distributed Wednesday night at Carver Arena.? TV arrangements are "To be announced"

Will Frankliin needs 6 more 3-pointers to tie Aaron Zobrist's all time single season record of 90.
Will is already tied for 3rd best single season total right now at 84.

Bradley presently leads the nation in 3-point FG percentage at .427, slightly ahead of Northern Arizona who isn't playing anywhere in the postseason.

Jeremy Crouch is a virtual shoo-in to break Aaron Zobrist's all time record for single season 3-pt FG shooting accuracy.
Crouch presently is shooting .510 from the arc, and would have to miss his next 17 attempts before he falls below Aaron Zobrist's single season record of .460.

There's even a remote chance Zach Andrews could catch Luke Jackson's all time single season FG% record of .668.
But it is very, very remote.
Zach would have to make the next 16 shots to pass Luke.

In March of 1960 I was just relocated to Arlington, Va by the US Army and on my first day there I watched Bradley beat Providence in the championship game of the NIT at a little bar in downtown Washington, DC. Lets repeat that performance.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
