The draw for BU isn't that bad... if it wasn't for having to play likely 2 on the road.

The NIT "Committee" (hard to call them that since it is just a bunch of old power conference coaches) does a terrible job. CM Newton said they don't look at RPI or anything... they just try to figure out who would beat who if they played.

Clemson over Syracuse as a #1 seed? Drexel stuck with a #3? Not sure why Air Force got the love as a #1.

Anyhow - I would think the NIT would do better if they gave the mid-major teams more of a shot to play at home instead of the power conference also-rans who won't care about the game and won't draw.

Miss. St. is not a real strong #1 seed. Hopefully BU plays well vs. Providence and then has a shot to win a game at Miss. St. All in all - it could have been worse.... Syracuse, Drexel, Kansas St., etc. are all not in BU's bracket.

Plus - Providence is a Big East team at home... a good game to have....

      Release from Bradley--

PEORIA, Ill. -- Just hours after learning it would not play in the NCAA Tournament, Bradley (21-12) was rewarded with a first-round home game in the 2007 MasterCard National Invitation Tournament and the fourth-seeded Braves will host Big East member Providence (18-12) Wednesday night at Carver Arena.? Wednesday's game was not picked for broadcast on the ESPN family of networks and will tip at 7:05 p.m. (CDT).? Bradley is making its 21st appearance in the NIT, second-most in tournament history to the 27 appearances by St. John's.? Bradley also is second all-time with four NIT championships (1957, 1960, 1964 and 1982) and fourth with 25 NIT victories.? Providence also owns a proud NIT history.? The Friars are making their 17th NIT appearance, boasting two titles (1961 and 1963) and ranking third all-time with 30 NIT victories.? The Braves are 3-0 all-time against Providence, including an 88-72 win in the championship game of the 1960 NIT at Madison Square Garden.

The biggest problem I have is Bradley not getting a TV game!!! Does anyone know if there will be any way to watch this? BUTV or some place youcan pay?

All in all an ugly day for the MVC. The NCAA gods did everything they could to make sure the MVC understands that it is a mid major and always will be......

Does anyone remember in years past if WEEK made a special arrangement to air an NIT game if BU's wasn't on ESPN? I'm sure they would get a lot more viewers to that than whatever else is on at that time. Maybe someone should send an e-mail to WEEK programming.

ESPN doesn't want to show a Big East team getting their @sses kicked on national television.

Just for fun (I know everyone is hating on the RPI now), I printed the sheet & went to Kenpom & based solely on RPI it should be BU vs. Air Force for the NIT championship. Other than AF, only Missouri State has a better RPI & they are in AF's bracket.

Thought others might find that funny.
