NIT?

I know that it is our own fault if we don't get an NCAA bid tomorrow, but if we get left out, I still can't help feeling a little cheated. As of now, we have an RPI of 37, one spot behind MSU and a SOS of 20. In many ways, I wish it was more about the numbers. If Purdue gets in over us simply because they are in the Big Ten, I will be upset. (I'd love to see them not make it just to see what the townies have to say about it).

While this NIT projected field looks very tough, somebody could get bumped out today still. The Southland Conference title game is in Houston pitting Texas A & M-Corpus Christi against Northwestern State (slayers of Iowa last year). TAMCC should win this game, but if they don't, they have the NIT to fall back on."The NCAA is so upset about alleged recruiting violations at Kentucky that they decided to give Cleveland State the Death Penalty"--Jerry Tarkanian

Sad and pathetic.

IF the 5th ranked conference in the RPI, ONLY gets 2 teams in, what good is the RPI?
If this is true, there should be a congressional investigation.
1 800 Ray Lahood!
Personally, I am glad the talking heads are NOT on the selection committee.
I am with George the Doggie, at least 3 in.

This NIT site that you linked has the BE getting 7 bids and the B12 with 5. Last I checked our RPI was sitting at 5 above both of them.
Would the NCAA be silly enough to take 7 and 5 from the 6th & 7th rated conferences and only two from ours?
Maybe I read that wrong - feel like we'd be cheated and MSU fans may hunt Barry down and hang him over the hole in the ground where their new building will be.'Tis far better to have failed at Bradley than to have graduated from Illinois State!
