    Congrats to all you Illini-slash-Bradley fans out there. This win over Indiana puts the Illini in for sure. Good luck in the NCAA Tourney. I think many, many, many teams are very beatable and the Illini could easily find themselves in the Sweet16 if not even further.

          Bucky is beatable.

          And - BWeber is undefeated in the United Center while the Illini haven't lost since March 10th 2001 in the United Center.

            I prefer Bucky to Brutus- but I'm not sure the boy's have anything left. It could be another ugly game.

                It's just so Greg Doyle has something to complain about. Still, they keep stealing wins...more of a mugging than a con game. And they've made the moving screen quite fashionable.

                  I had the misfortune of sitting courtside for the Illinois game, and they continue to be the most unwatchable Illinois team I have ever seen. I did not say 'worst', but most unwatchable. They're not likeable guys, and they play absolutely dreadful basketball. There is nothing redeeming at all about them. Even the biggest Illinois fans I know say the same thing. They were fortunate tonight that Indiana is more dreadful than they are. I hope the folks in Bloomington with the brand of basketball they're playing with Sampscum, it's god-awful. Indiana is not a tournament-caliber team. They can't play away from home, and could be one of the most offensively-challenged teams out of any of the top 10 conferences in America. The home win against SIU is what's going to put them in the tournament, as they have NOTHING else close to that the rest of the year.

                  Do a blind resume between Indiana and BU, and you'll see the results tip quite a bit towards the Braves, especially when you get to wins away from home, SOS, and non-conference SOS. But conferences don't get bids, teams do, right? Please. Indiana isn't a tournament team, and I am not sure Illinois is either.

                    Well, in that case, along with the resume the Bradley AD sent out to the committee, anything is possible. Perhaps there could be a big surprise or two come Selection Sunday!

                      And yet Weber has managed to coax 23 wins out of this mess with very little practice time, and when he brings up that indisputable fact, it's whining.

                        The only things that Bruce has whined about IMO is the recruiting end of it. I thought his behavior at the presser this week was a little inappropriate, but nevertheless, I don't think anyone has disputed that he's a very good basketball coach. Perhaps he has proven that moreso this year than any other year. I think they scheduled a tad weak in the non-con, but that's probably because of the lack of talent. This group has virtually no talent, and yet are likely going to have their name called on Selection Sunday.

                        I guess us BU folks can hang our hat on being Illinois' marquee non-conference win.

                          Well, there you're just a little uninformed. IL had the strongest non-con sched of the B10- 40th overall. Not great but certainly respectable. I don't see where losing even one more non-con game would have helped this team in ANY way. I wasn't suggesting that you necessarily were bringing up the whining, but the media sure does. As for the press conference you'ld almost think that it was scripted, but Bruce isn't that clever, or is he???

                            I'm not uninformed...I think the whole conference scheduled weak in the non-con. That explains the inflated records of very average teams like Purdue and Indiana. Most BCS schools do schedule weak because they can get away with it. Regardless, Illinois earned their way in today IMO.

                              Where was the ex-Bradley Brave juco player who was a starter and was their designated 3-point shooter?

                              It's been nearly 2 months since Stemler has looked good, his scoring average has dropped to only about 5ppg and he is hitting a woeful 25% from 3-point in Big Ten games.

                              Against the Illini, Stemler saw only 4 minutes to close out the 1st half and spare anyone else an extra foul before halftime, he barely touched the ball, and has a stat line that reads:
                              22 Stemler, L 4 minutes 0 0-0 0-0 0-0 0 0-0 0 0 0 0

                              He never again reentered the game, and you have to wonder if Kelvin Sampson any longer has any faith in him.
