  • Butler out of NCAA?

I know that they will get a invitation but Butler has done nothing the past month to deserve an invititation to the NCAA. I hear all the time how they weight the teams games in the last weeks leading upto the selection and Butler has bombed.

They were great at the beginning of the year and I was rallying for them in the support of the mid-majors but recent performance shows they are not worthy of a bid.

What is everyones thought on the possibilty of Butler not making the dance? I know it is slim and I'm sure they will be a one and done team.

As soon as people saw some game films and saw what teams could do to beat them, it became a bit easier.
Butler was even being beaten at home by Loyola.

Jerry Palm dropped Butler to a #7 seed today and he said he almost dropped them to a #8.

Btw, Palm has 3 MVC teams in (#3 SIU, #10 Creighton, #11 Mo St).

Butler. Product of good early wins, and weak conference that didn't challenge them in the regular season. Had Wichita, after their early wins gone back to the Horizon league ranked 11 or whatever they were, they would still be ranked and in the same situation as Butler. Unfortunately, Wichita had to play in the MVC.

Once again, a team is chosen based on their entire body of work throughout the entire season, not just for what they did during the last part of the season. While the last ten game record will have a bearing on their seeding, their 4-4 record in their last eight games, and their 6-4 record during their last ten games is not bad enough to even consider leaving them out. I think a 7 to 9 seed is what they are looking at, and that most certainly gives them a great opportunity to win at least one game.
