  • The most stressful part of the week starts today

The major conferences have started tournament play. We need all of these teams to have an early exit:

    Clemson
    Florida State
    West Virginia
    Iowa
    Michigan
    Kansas State
    Akron
    San Diego State
    BYU
    Vanderbilt
    Georgia
    Ole Miss
    Arkansas
    Alabama
    Mississippi State
    UMASS

Since Clemson and FSU are playing each other right now, one of them is automatically eliminated.

Yes, and we need all of the non-conference teams we played to win another game or two (except maybe Illinois which is sitting on the same bubble we are). We also need a couple more wins, maybe in the MVC tourney! Whoops, sorry, that's over... NIT here we come. I'm sorry, but I don't think we have one chance in _____ to get it no matter what happens with the teams you listed.

If you are a Bradley fan 1st, Illinois fan 2nd... then you want Illinois to lose today.

If you are an Illinois fan 1st, Bradley fan 2nd... you don't want Illinois to lose at all.

I also noticed Illinois was missing from the list. I pull for Illinois, but I would gladly give up a bid for the Illini if it meant that Bradley was in. However, I think its time we all face reality. This is a board for Bradley fans, and therefore you can find a lot of logical arguments here as to why the braves deserve a bid. The only problem is, this is about the only place that any one is talking about Bradley's chances. I have already mentally accepted the fact that we are in the NIT. If a miracle happens and we make the NCAA then it will just be that much sweeter, but we all pretty much know it just aint gonna happen. When you watch espn, or read USA today, or listen to sports radio programs (outside of peoria) we arent even on the bubble. Were not really even on the radar at all. Last year (when most of the sports nation couldnt believe we made it) we were on the radar more than we are now.

All that being said, go Illini! Because even if you do lose in the first round, it isnt going to help Bradley.

Or if you're like some of us, you wouldn't mind seeing Illinois going 0-32 on the year....

Sorry IlliB, you just haven't done your homework:

BYU is a LOCK - IN.
              Vandy - IN.

I may agree with you on Vandy....but BYU...Mountain West...if I were giving out bids, I wouldn't put them in my bracket.

Although I love the Illini, I think Bradley is more deserving of a bid. Illinois has not played well down the stretch, and we have picked off all of the bottom feeders in the Big Ten. It won't mean anything if Illinois goes just to go and loses in the first round. Right now BU needs this bid more than them to continue to boost its program.

Your losing credibility with me buddy.

BYU won the Mountain West Conference and they ARE A LOCK!

I have no idea what you are trying to rationalize over Illinois going just to go and lose 1st round or that 'we' picked off the bottom feeders in the B10 (are you saying 'we' as in Bradley or 'we' as in Illinois?).... but when you start spewing things like your last statement... ... your true colors are definitely showing and those colors are Orange&Blue.

And that's fine... I don't care. Just don't try to blow this sales-job by me that you are a fan (equally) of both teams.

i think we are all over-looking an amazing possibility...one that is just behind an ncaa bid...what if bruce and his thugs were forced to play in peoria in the nit, and we all know the beat-down we would put on them in our house c'mon, who's with me on this?

                      Best post in this thread.

But in all seriousness, I don't think the Illini have much to do with Bradley getting in or not. They are ahead of Bradley in the "pecking order" with their victory over us and I don't see that changing even with a loss to the hapless Nittany Lions (who would have been DEAD LAST in the MVC this year - had to get that in there).

Would the Selection Committee consider the off the court problems against the Illini? We know they look at injuries, they've got to look at the whole Jamar Smith thing, too, don't you think?
                      Go Braves!

JL was on ESPN radio last night making his case why BU should be in & did a pretty good job. Then after the interview, the ESPN host went on to say that in a "blind" rvw of NCAA resumes, BU would be better than W. Virginia & K-State, but that based on their conference affiliations, the other schools would likely get in first because, "that's just the way it is". That would explain why only 2 MVC teams are in Lunardi's ESPN bracket this morning. Their BCS bias is showing even though, as of the moment the MVC is the 5th ranked conference in the NCAA.
