  • Wright St. beats Butler, not good.

    Well,

Wright St.(who we embarrassed by 39) just knocked off Butler. Wright St is going dancin'. You have to think that Butler will get an at-large bid, so all the bubble team's chances just got a little slimmer. Why couldn't you just take care of business Butler?

The Butler loss doesn't necessarily eliminate Bradley from the at-large talk. Plenty of basketball to be played.

It certainly hurts, with so few bids to go around and so many teams even with us competing for those bids.

Probably a little bit. It certainly doesn't hurt.

Add it to the list of conference/conference tourney winners we have beat. I keep telling myself that a blind look at our numbers makes us a lock, and this certainly can't hurt from that stand point.

Butler really crashed and burned the last 2-3 weeks. I'm not sure they deserve to get in. The committee always takes into account your last 10 games and what is Butler 5-5??

I'll add that your win over Wright St. does look more impressive. I think if you guys don't get in it's a shame. You have the resume and deserve it in my opinion.
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

I agree Catalyst. The 'blind look' puts us in every time, especially when you factor in that we were missing our leading scorer and nation's top 3-point threat for a month of conference play. The only way an opinion on our resume goes from 'yes' to 'no', is when the schools and conferences are revealed.

I recall a couple of weeks ago before the Bracketbuster saying how overrated I thought Butler was. At the time their resume deserved a top 4 seed, but I stated how I didn't think even if they got that seed that they were as good as a top 4 seed typically is. Looks like Butler got the most out of some good early wins, and rode their reputation they built through a pretty weak conference to a high ranking. They have 3 losses to teams with a RPI over 100, and have also lost to Wright St twice.(RPI 71)
