  • If Les were to leave.....

for a BCS job. I'd be curious how others on the board would feel? I would be extremely disappointed, but would understand his need to pursue other challenges. Much like POB.

disclaimer - this is just to hear others thoughts there is no information or indications he would leave or there are any offers on the table (yet!!). Don't want to scare away any potential recruits.

I am a Bradley fan AND a Jim Les fan.
I would still be a Jim Les fan whereever he is.

IMO at this point in time ......it would be devastating to the program ............and also at this point in time....wouldn't a couple more years with CB at his side make him a better coach yet?

First, I highly doubt Coach Les would leave. He's got a personal connection to Bradley, and it's that personal connection that I think will keep him here. I believe he wants to bring glory back to basketball through continued success for years to come. The Coach Les era of Bradley basketball has only just begun.

In any case, if Coach Les were to leave for a BCS school, I'd be very disappointed. If the reason for leaving were to be "pursue other challenges" as you propose, that would be a huge dis to Bradley and the MVC. What I think the MVC, and all the coaches, are trying to do is make our conference on par or exceed those BCS schools.

IF he were to leave before the MVC has that respect, he would be in fact leaving behind a challenge that hasn't been met yet. Helping to make the MVC a major conference (in the eyes of the media and among BCS conferences), is a much larger challenge than jumping ship to join a BCS conference.

I don't think Coach Les is that kind of guy. He loves being at Bradley, and he's here to stay. The only way I see him leaving Bradley is retiring after winning a national championship and some consistent appearances in the Final Four.

An article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch refers to Chris Lowery and Jim Les as the 2 hottest coaching prospects in the MVC. They expect both to get interest from all the schools with vacancies.

This is exactly why I posted this DC, because everyone has to know the BCS schools are gonna come knockin!!

I suppose it doesn't hurt for other programs to ask.... but IMO Les is NOT leaving Bradley for another college coaching job - anywhere.

Prediction: Assistant Eric Buescher will leave before Coach Les. The guy has really impressed me with his recruiting and in-game coaching help. He is young and up and coming. He will be the first to leave this coaching staff, IMO.

I've heard rumblings CB might be itching to retire, but you hear that every year.

You mean you wouldn't go from loving him to hating him like the Illinois fans have done to Self.....????

From what i have heard it is more than an itch. It was a great ride with CB but we will have to wait and see. CB WILL LEAVE before EB count on it.

I saw some Evansville fans on the Valley sight mentioning Lennox Forrester as a possible replacement for the Aces coach.

I never thought of that LC...he does have ties and it seem to make sense...but would he be high profile enough?

I also think CB will at least stay as long as DR is playing.....with DR being his last true player from HS!

The only way Jim would leave would be for a NBA job.

Jim Les has the job that he has always wanted and as long as the money is good he will stay as long as Bradley wants him; I would have to think that Marty Simmons would be a candidate for the Evansville job because he was an asst. coach there and he is currently the head coach of SIUE.

I'd be really disappointed for Bradley... but I'd support Coach Les whereever he goes. It would devastate our program I think if he left this year...

I don't think Les is after another college coaching job... I don't know how ambitious he is in that regard, but in my manner of thinking, he came to his alma mater to make it into a powerhouse and he's having some success in doing so. I don't think he'd want to leave until he is satisfied he's done everything he can at BU.
