It does not count for the RPI, because they only factor in games between D-I schools.
But it was a regular season game, and the NCAA recognizes that it counts toward the overall record. However, it means virtually nothing to selection committees....
BRADLEY BASKETBALL
-2 NCAA Title Games
-3 NCAA Elite Eights
-4 NCAA Sweet 16s
-4 NIT Championships
One of Bradley's opponents, Southern Mississippi, has played 4 games against non-Division 1 schools--
Belhaven -a little Div 2 NAIA school,
Spring Hill -another NAIA team,
Southern-New Orleans -yet a 3rd NAIA team on their regular schedule, and
Reinhardt-still yet a 4th NAIA school!!
These do not count toward the calculation of the RPI. Since they are not even NCAA schools, there would be no way to figure them into the RPI, since they are not rated by the NCAA.
So they boast a record of 17-10, though for the sake of the NCAA thay are 13-10--
By the way, while Bradley is considered off the bubble by most, apparently some unrealistic fans still consider Southern Mississippi a "bubble" team.--
The other 2 teams discussed in that article, Mississippi is RPI 62, and Mississippi State is 66. I guess when you are a member of the "power conferences" you have a sense of entitlement!

Speaking of Southern Mississippi, it has now been nearly TWO whole months since the game where Southern Mississippi coach Larry Eustachy threatened to beat up one of the Bradley fans sitting behind him, and since Larry then responded to my e mail sent to him telling of our displeasure with his actions and words.
Larry said in his own e mail that if I gave him my phone number, he'd call me and discuss the situation.
Of course he never has, and I guess I never really expected him to.
I have lost respect for him.
I hope he reads our boards.
Why would he ask me personally in an e mail for my phone number professing he will call me to discuss the situation I asked about, then after I sent him the number, he never responded?
Answer: He is a phony jerk, and unless he keeps playing 4 NAIA teams every year, he isn't going to even crack the upper division of the weak C-USA.
His record against teams whose RPI is in the upper 30% of all D-I teams is 0-6, but he's 7-2 against teams with RPI above 200 and 4-0 against NAIA teams. So a full 11 of their wins have come against teams who are worse than anyone BU even had on their schedule!
