I'm from the Milwaukee area, and I've seen Buycks play a couple times. No doubt about it, he's going to be a great player for us. Can't wait to see him in a Bradley uniform.

Is this kid really that good?? do you think there is any chance at all this kid will red shirt???? i just think it might be a good idea to do so unless he can make a serious impact on the team. With all the guards in the lineup next year, it might be better for the kid to get a solid 4 years instead of having a "Ray Brown" freshman year

He looks like Tony Bennett to me. And I say that as a VERY good thing. Will he contribute next year? Who knows. Playing 4 guards and hopefully doing a lot more pressing and trapping, we could very likely go 9-10 deep, so I wouldn't say a redshirt is automatic.

Well... I can see them redshirting him, and I don't think it would hurt him if they did. It's definitely a possibility. But if they can make room for him in the rotation, I think he could make an impact.

again I ask...how many times and when was the last time Bradley redshirted an incoming freshman from the outset?
Are you thinking we'll have the luxury of being that deep?
I cannot recall it ever happening, so if you guys want to keep taking the long shot fine...but it isn't likely.
Jassey redshirted in retrospect when he didn't play all year, but that wasn't apparently the intent from the beginning and he dressed every game.
The other BU redshirts have all been due to injury.

Jassey was granted a medical redshirt because of chronic tendinitis of the knees.

Bradley does not bring players in to redshirt them as one of the reasons they come here is a chance to play now; if the wanted to sit out a year then they probably choose a major school; also there is always the problem of injuries so we need as many players as possible.

all i'm saying is look at the facts.... there is only 200 mins we can give all the players during a game so if we go by what we've done with providing minutues then we have to redshirt someone...

This year these guys who will have a significant impact on next years team averaged this many mins per game:
                            Crouch - 29.3
                            Ruffin - 33.3
                            Salley - 21.3
                            Warren - 14.3
                            Total : 98.2

lets assume that fears takes franklins starting spot... franklin averaged 34.8 mins a game so lets just give fears 30 mins

now we are at a total of 128.2

now we have to look at whos taking over Zach's position.... we are hinting on a juco big to come in and play right away.. Zach only averaged 22.6 mins a game... probaly would have averaged a few more but was in foul trouble.. still lets only give the new juco 24 mins

now we have a total of 152.2 mins and only 47.8 mins to give the rest of the guys

Now was can assume that Ray Brown will be ready to play along with DeArron Williams. Lets just say that either Thompson or Egolf will redshirt and SM, and Buycks will not.. thats still 5 guys to give 47.8 mins to.

thats only 9.5 mins a game to all of those guys... I think its going to be tough to make sure that 5 guys get their 10 mins a game... it will mess up the flow of the offense IMO. Even if buycks redshirts its still 12 mins a game for 4 guys. thats assuming 2 redshirts!!!

this is going to be a good problem to have for the next few years...
