The ISU ladies downed Bradley 75 ???¬??? 66. The Birds had balanced scoring with five players in double figures led by Nicolle Lewis with 18. BU???¬??s Erika Nelson led all scorers with 22. Amy Peters with 17 and Ashley Chelleen with 13 were also in double figures for the Braves.
I have to ask who wins a three-point contest, EN or DA?
I did ???¬?board???¬?? another shirt. Squirrel wasn???¬??t there to knock out of the way, but I???¬??m sure he appreciates my effort. Since Squirrel wasn???¬??t there I sat with an ISU fan and his son. Yeah, I sat with Joe. And BTW he can no longer squelch our complaining about the refs. He drew a few stares and he acknowledged as much. Do as I say not as I do, huh Joe?
The game started fast as both teams seemed to score at will. The first media timeout was completely bypassed. In fact no foul was called until ISU got whistled with 9:37 left in the half, and BU didn???¬??t pick up a foul until 2:44 left in the half.
ISU led throughout the game and 40 ???¬??? 33 halfway through. The Birds could not push it to double figures and BU managed to tie at 42. But then ISU got its lead back and BU could get no closer than 6.
The Braves go on the road Sunday at the other ISU and return for their final game of the regular season on Saturday, March 3rd. It will be seniors night. Get out and support the ladies one final time.
