Nick Freundt

Nick Freundt of Batavia HS is one of the very best juniors in the state.
Almost everyone has the 6-5 SG ranked in the Top 5.

A new premium report lists Bradley prominently as one of Nick's choices, and he has visited Bradley's campus at least three times, as was reported previously.

I have some new info on Nick from some great sources, so PM me if you want to know more, but here is a little.

"Some kids would get upset about being compared to a player just two years his elder, but Batavia High (Ill) junior wing Nick Fruendt is honored by the comparisons to another Illinois native, Duke freshman Jon Scheyer.

Nick Fruendt is sometimes referred to as a poor man???‚¬?„?s Jon Scheyer. You know what, he welcomes the comparison.

Didnt someone post that he had an offer from Stanford and was most likely going there? Stanford is not even listed

Those are the only schools this 2/21/07 interview lists, and it is an interview of Freundt by perhaps the single most respected of all national recruiting analysts.

I also recall seeing someone mention Stanford, and it was Danny Cooksey, but I cannot say I have read or heard that anywhere else, and am surprised if it is true, then why don't the major guys in recruiting seem to know it.

But further into this current report, Freundt does list some schools as "watching with interest"...and who will plan to observe Nick over the summer with his AAU team.

Arizona State
Stanford
Northwestern
Notre Dame
Marquette
Georgia Tech

In another separate report I also saw Michigan and Indiana listed.

I know some people really are great BU fans but don't really care too much about the speculative and nebulous recruiting scene....and I was once one of those fans.
But I offer this for those who are interested...and to keep up on how well Bradley is doing in getting listed with the big boys time and time again.

I had already noted Stanford as one of the numerous schools who have contacted Nick and who may be following, but as far as known offers, I do not see anywhere that Stanford has offered.

Sure was me and I stand by it. I was told directly by a relative of mine who happens to know Fruendt very well, lives near him, and has known him and his family for years and talks with him on a regular basis.

My relative who I speak to daily, heard it directly from Fruendt himself in a personal 1-on-1 conversation they had a few weeks ago. Take it for what it's worth. Pretty sure the kid himself is about the best source possible, but what do I know?

Put it this way, any Valley school is strictly a fallback option at this point. That's not a knock on BU at all so don't take it that way. This what i've been told.

We're talking about a scholarship offer from Stanford, not the mere mention of Stanford, as even a dunce can see that Stanford is listed as interested in my original list before you even got involved with your link.

Your link says nothing about an offer, so it proves absolutely nothing.

I stand by my original statement....that no site anywhere lists an offer from Stanford, but Danny Cooksey syas he has heard Stanford has offered.
