Yeah, the one thing I really think is missing from Bradley Basketball is that pre-game atmosphere that accompanies some other schools. I love arriving on a campus before a game and the feeling that the game is what everyones waiting for that day. Bradley's moving closer to that but still not near that of a bigger school. Let's just hope our continued success pushes BU in that direction.

Regardless if Bradley is private or not, they are still a member of
the NCAA and have to abide by their rules to be a member. Otherwise why don't we do what we please with our mascot. I know the NCAA bans alcohol sales at all its official championship events, and I thought they did at on-campus events as well. I might be wrong about the second, but if I am I doubt it has anything to do with Bradley being a private school, as they are still hosting NCAA events. This is a moot point by the way, as I am sure we will never play on-campus again.

If the Braves moved back to a 4500 seat arena they would be back to playing Joe's type of schedule.

Bradley men's basketball will never move back to campus to play in a 4500 seat arena. IMO, building a 4500 seat arena is worthless. The women's team will never fill 4500 seats, and the men's team can't play in a 4500 seat arena, so why are we building this size arena? Not to mention a 300 space parking deck isn't even close to enough parking for that size arena either.(if it was filled)
Man, I wish BU had the parking space available to build a 10000 seat arena and bring the men back to campus. How fun would that be. Although I could care less, another problem with on campus games is there would be no alcohol sales.

I agree with you mostly, I feel like a smaller arena and a place somewhere between 4500 and the 500 the ballroom seats would be more beneficial to campus. However why couldn't they have alcohol sales on campus? Bradley's not dry... It really would be amazing to play on campus again. I think we'd get better student turnout and theres just something about it, I think it would give campus a 'gameday' feel before the game.

If I had my druthers (whatever those really are), I'd want an on-campus arena that meets the minimum requirements for capacity to host NCAA tournament events. I could give up the selling of beer (however much I love my beer) to get on campus games in a slightly bigger arena...

I THINK you would only have to give up the beer sales during the championship events similar to the Civic Center during the state high school championships.
