  • Followup on BU Recruit - Scott Suggs

As a reminder...here are a couple older threads on Scott Suggs:

BUT--- Scott Suggs still mentions Bradley among the schools he is considering.

Scott Suggs is a FOUR-STAR SG in the Class of 2008 from Washington, MO (suburb of St. Louis)

Here are a few tidbits from a 2/21/07 interview with Scott Suggs:

"Suggs is a 6-5 PG/SG with great scoring, rebounding and defending abilities. ???‚¬?“I???‚¬?„?m having a pretty good year so far. I???‚¬?„?m averaging 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game."

"He???‚¬?„?s currently carrying a 3.4 GPA and scored a 22 on his ACT."

"In an interview by National Recruiting Director, Dave Telep, Suggs has been offered by: Bradley, Florida, Indiana State, Missouri, St. Louis, Southern Illinois, Virginia, Washington, Clemson, Wisconsin, and Purdue."

Scott Suggs is done for the season, as his team lost in the regionals.
Scott (junior at Washington HS, MO)had a bad game, scored just two points.

" I was double and sometimes triple teamed all night. It was a tough loss because it was the first round of the playoffs for me, but the loss will make me work that much harder next year"

"Suggs said that he gets a lot of contact from the Illinois coaches, including the head man himself. ???‚¬?“They are great guys. All three of the coaches (Weber, Webster and Price) stay in contact with me with either phone calls or text messages,???‚¬?? added Suggs."

"6-5 shooting guard Scott Suggs, a member of the class of 2008... ???‚¬?“What I like about Illinois is it???‚¬?„?s close to home. I would like it if my family and friends could come see me play. I know they have good players down there and they???‚¬?„?re recruiting more. The style of play that Illinois uses interests me as well,???‚¬?? said Suggs. Suggs is fully qualified as a DI recruit. He currently carries a 3.4 GPA."

Also posted on the Recruiting board--
Here is a new report on Scott Suggs. The article now lists Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Washington, Saint Louis, and Florida. But Missouri, Illinois, and Florida are said to be the frontrunners. His list no longer includes Bradley or Southern Illinois.

A brand new article/interview this morning with Scott Suggs says he has narrowed his list of choices further.
He had already eliminated Bradley but was still considering Saint Louis....something that might affect Bradley in the recruitment of Matt Roth.

But now Suggs has eliminated Saint Louis.

"As far as his recruitment, Suggs has narrowed his focus to seven schools. Missouri, Illinois, Washington,
Florida, Kansas, Wisconsin, and Clemson made the first cut, but Suggs will narrow it down even more this month."

"In July I'll cut my list, probably down to about 3," Suggs said. "I will then make my decision sometime before the basketball season starts."
