  • Congratulations Coach Corn--Coach of the Year

Yuba College will start the playoffs on Friday after completing a highly successful season. They won their conference outright with a record of 15-1, and finished the regular season 25-6. Here is an article about their season--

    More good news--
The Bay Valley Conference named their Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.
Demetrius Young of Yuba was named Player of the Year and Coach Cornelius of Yuba was chosen as Coach of the Year.
There is only a small line about these awards in about the middle of this page. The local paper in Yuba must be holding this story back for now --

    Congratulations to Coach Corn!

WOW-- congratulations Coach Corn and DY.

By the way, Demetrius Young has signed to play next year at Marshall!
They are getting a great player, and so is UNLV getting Mareceo Rutledge.
Next year will be Xavier Crawford's year to shine!

They won last night in the second round of the California Community College playoffs for their 16th consecutive win, and they now make it to Fresno and the Elite 8. I believe the quality of kids you get to come to your program is a direct reflection on the amount of work your coach puts in. Is there anybody JL hasn't looked at?

I found one site that lists your standings...

I also found that Yuba's Demetrius Young ranks 5th in all the junior colleges in California in rebounding with 10.9 rpg.

And Kyle Rische (a Yuba freshman who'll be Xavier Crawford's teammate again next year) is 5th in all of California junior colleges in blocks, with 3.5 bpg.
